Very boring. At times these silences become irritating, as if the protagonist of the scene were deaf. Also, the Interstellar-style music doesn't fit the theme of the film. The aerial combat scenes are pointless as friendly and enemy planes appear alone out of nowhere and never maintain a coherent attack formation. I was expecting better when it came to Christopher Nolan.

I can't think of any reason why this movie would be so highly rated, unless one views it as an 'art film' and ignores the fact that Dunkirk was a real event. The film is completely lacking in expressing humanity; It's like a giant set piece with Human looking marionettes going through some motions for the camera. It spends time on the most random things and I don't recall there ever being an actual cohesive story, or memorable characters. By the time it was over, the event of Dunkirk isn't really explored other than as a backdrop and a few random characters did a few things until the credits ran. This is coming from a WW2 buff, perhaps if you have no interest in the war then you may enjoy this movie... Although I doubt it.
