Josh Fink at Brooklyn College | Rate My Professors
Worst Professor ever. Lectures are taught by mouth. No powerpoints, no writing on boards, not even examples. Asks obvious yes or no questions all the time. "Does a car need an engine to run". Totally not related to tax. He assumes the whole class knows the material and continues to talk. Class would be so much easier if he wrote stuff on board...

He is horrible and disappointed. He doesn't solve any problems from the text book he assigned. He writes his own questions with his own language. No practice at all for his three exams and he will definitely confuse you. I have a very good GPA, and his grade was the worst I got since I started my college.

This is Grad Level Taxation class and professor can not explain anything ! He does not have academic knowledge to teach this class. His qualification is 40 years experience working with IRS which clearly is not enough to teach challenging academic course. Test was not hard but class did pretty bad as they were not taught!

Income tax is very hard and you must read to understand. He gives very hard tests with long computation problems and the test average for the class is around 50. BUT! He curve the class base on the highest score, so if 80 is highest then that is a A+, 60 a B-, 50 a c, and so on. So technically you can pass his class with a 50 test average.

Income taxation class has a lot of material. He grades on a curve. 2 midterms and 1 final. He would make you fill out a schedule and do MACRS (depreciation); the hardest topic. TF questions are easy, his mc questions aren't so tricky. He has a monotone, you might fall asleep in class.

A lot of information, but professor will try to explain the most challenging parts of taxation, which will be present on the exams. Professor will go over sample exams from previous years and he curves grades a lot.

It's not an easy class. Be ready to read a lot and do a lot on your own cuz this professor doesn't know how to keep students interested and make them memorize and understand the material. Very boring class, especially if you take it in the evening, after work. You have to study a lot if you want to get a good grade. He is pretty fair.

I dont recommend this Professor to anybody who want to know Taxation. Its not easy class at all. You have to read a lot and learn everything by youself. Professor cant teach at all, he cant explain anything to understand the topic. Dont take him if you have chance to choose another one.

Assumes that the students have prior knowledge of what he is speaking about. He has been doing taxation for decades and is second nature to him but sometimes he forgets that he is speaking to clueless students. Other than that, the class is difficult so stay on top of your readings and you should be fine.

Don't take his acc30. Even if I have already taken taxation in community college; however, i don't understand what he is talking about at all. He let me hate taxation. In contrast, my former taxation professor light me up in taxation.

AVOID THIS PROFESSOR FOR ACCOUNTING 30 CLASS. Accnt 30 is very important class and you don?t want to risk by taking this professor. If you take him,You will risk because the professor gives different type of material on the exams from what he teaches in class, his answers to students? questions are unclear and the test are extremely hard.

Very mediocre, BC-level prof. Lectures become tedious at times. Knows the material well, but not that great at delivering it. All your question will be answered, but in a very general manner. Some test questions are extremely confusing. Plus, he's a very incompetent writer/speller for a lawyer.

Very nice guy, takes time to answer you questions. He works as a lawyer for the IRS. Took him for Accounting 41 in Summer 2008. He gave us a Midterm and Final. The tests are based on his lectures, so you need to take good notes. He gives a decent curve. I am going to take him again for Accounting 30. I recommend taking his class.

I left early every time because I was so bored. He teaches the material well but you need to be well rested to listen. I read the book at home and did great.
