Hotel's Favourite
Fantastic location several blocks from the rock and roll hall of fame and the Cleveland waterfront. Pet friendly. Beautiful historic building. Breakfast included. Free drinks and food from 5 to 7 - the mashed potatoes and meatballs were incredible. Free popcorn. Great pizza at the small bar. Very quiet large rooms with comfortable beds. Very friendly staff. We did use the valet only parking because we had two small dogs - $37 per night - but we did see a public parking garage close to the hotel which might be a less expensive option. We have stayed at a number of pet friendly hotels over the years and for the cost this was one of if not the best.

This was only the second time we had ever stayed in a Drury property. We were attracted by the room rate and the proximity to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (easy ten minute walk). The restored Board of Education building is gorgeous, the rooms are large and spotless, and the staff is always very friendly. We took advantage of the complimentary evening drink and light meal program one of our two evenings, and also enjoyed a delicious hot breakfast both mornings. The basement level pool (didn't use it) is very nice, as is the workout room (did use it one morning). No 5th star for the Drury this visit, however. Somehow they neglected to clean our room after our first night. That's a huge oversight in my book. I will say that when I called at 5pm they did send housekeeping up to make the bed and refresh the towels. I also suspect that's why the valet overnight parking fee was seriously discounted, though there was never any explanation for that. All in all, a very nice stay. We would return, and we will recommend the Drury Plaza Hotel to others.

Drury lived up to all the good reviews we read before booking the downtown location in Cleveland, Ohio for a Sister's weekend trip for 3 couples. The hotel decor was beautiful & the common spaces and rooms were very clean. Our "2 Queen bed larger room" selection was huge and comfortable for 4 adults. ALL the staff were very friendly and helpful. Special mention & thanks go to the assistant manager, Seth, who went above and beyond for our group. Seth arranged extra chairs & a night stand for our room and arranged an extra late check out for our group. When we found that the cab we ordered on Saturday would be an hour late, Seth took the initiative and made calls to arrange for an excellent private car service for our 4 trips around Cleveland. Drury Inn proved to be an exceptional value with a delicious HOT breakfast each day and a tasty free Kick back dinner with adult beverages included each night! Unlike many hotel buffets, the staff at Drury were extremely efficient, keeping the HOT food plentiful and the tables cleared and cleaned even during the "rush" periods of heavy guest participation. The hotel felt very safe and quiet even though there were many guests that weekend.

We visit Cleveland yearly for a kids’ sports competition and typically love to stay at this particular Drury property due to its close proximity to the convention center, clean rooms, and the evening snacks. As in past years, the customer service we saw from every single employee was amazing, from the second we entered the valet line and encountered Chip (he’s a gem!) and every time we walked through the lobby as we were greeted by the desk staff. I would’ve left an amazing 5 star review BUT on our last day, we were basically kicked out by what I can only assume is an employee not living the best customer service life. It was the only time we encountered this particular “manager” and she was so rude that it left our entire family feeling uncomfortable and uneasy about our stay. We had not taken part in the previous night’s kickback dinner snacks nor any of the free alcoholic drinks the entire time and in turn had been given permission earlier in the day to stay and grab dinner on our checkout day since we were not leaving the hotel until late in the day. Our car remained valeted and our luggage was stored for the day and yet this “manager” felt compelled to approach us and demand that we leave the kickback area since they had “only prepared enough food for that day’s guests.” Our previously impeccable impression of this hotel instantly dropped to zero and we have already reserved a nearby property for next year’s stay. Honestly- we’re not even sure if this woman was a manager or not because on our way out of the building, she was sitting at the valet stand. Regardless, we won’t be back, free hot dogs or not.

I accomapanied my daughter and her friends to Cleveland for spring break (!). The Drury was the perfect location to walk to the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame and other downtown sites. Stephen at the front desk was friendly and knowledgeable, giving us many helpful suggestions on things to do. Kenya at the desk loaned us umbrellas during the rain. The breakfast buffet and dinner buffet (including 3 free alcoholic beverages nightly) are amazing values, especially considering how little we paid for a 2 bedroom suite. We will definitely stay here again when we are in Cleveland.

We stayed from Friday to Monday and ate three breakfast meals there. There were lots of choices, but on the hot bar they had breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, and pancakes EVERY DAY. It would have been nice to have seen bacon swapped out for the sausage patties or even link sausages for the sausage patties. In our room, there was no lock on the bathroom door, which isn't helpful when there are four people staying in the room. Also, there was no vent fan in the bathroom, so after a shower the mirror was fogged to the point that it couldn't be used. The shower head was adequate but we noticed that the water pressure and hot water dipped whenever someone flushed a commode or turned on their own shower. The in-room refrigerator didn't seem to have a control that I would locate (and I LOOKED) so drinks we put in the fridge froze solid. The room was comfortable, but the lobby and areas near the elevators were very institutional, since the building was originally a school administration building built in the late 1920s. On Friday evening we put our "do not disturb" sign on the door, but removed it early on Sunday morning expecting the room would be made up and we'd get fresh towels, but no one made up the room that day. So we ended up using the same towels for four days. The staff was pleasant and often said hello to us in the hallways or wished us a good day. Since the hotel is downtown and doesn't have a parking lot, if you have a vehicle, be prepared to pay $32 a day for valet service. They were usually fast with the car, but once I texted for the car and didn't get a reply of any sort that the car was ready. It was waiting for us when we went down but the previous day we had received a message when the car was ready. The day we checked out, we called for the car and received a message that it was ready but it wasn't out front, so I had to ask for it and a valet had to run over a block or two and get the car for us. Overall, we liked the place, but if we ever go back to Cleveland we'll probably go somewhere else.

I stayed at the Drury Plaza Saturday, February 22, 2020, when we were in town to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. From the front desk, to valets, to housekeeping and the people working the 5:30 Kickback and breakfast - Everyone was friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make you comfortable. The nightly room rate was VERY reasonable, then once you added in the extra values, it couldn't be beat. The 5:30 kickback was enough to serve as dinner for us. They had tossed salad, penne pasta with a white sauce (it was delicious), chili, hot dogs, nachos and toppings and something else that escapes me at this moment. With that you also receive 3 drinks from the bar per person. The hot breakfast was good also. They had freshly made pancakes, a waffle maker, scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal, toast, bagels, juices, coffee and pop. We are in our late 50's and considered it within walking distance of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Science Center, etc. The temps were in the lower 40's and we were fine, but it was sunny. If the weather was inclement, or you have mobility limitations, you'd want to drive it.

This hotel deserves five stars. It's tough to stay safe and yet be welcoming during this pandemic but we felt safe and we'll cared for here. Upon arrival we noticed employees all wearing masks that covered nose and mouth. Signs on elevators to ride with only your own party. Arrows in common areas to minimize close contact. The room is large and clean. We carry our own Clorox wipes and there wasn't a speck of dirt on them when we were done wiping down surfaces. Beds were comfortable with thermostat that worked and curtains that blacked out the light. The breakfast was pretty standard for a hotel's hot breakfast. The potatoes were a bit chewy and bland but families would appreciate the bargain and choices. Coffee was pretty good. The evening reception gives out three drinks per customer and while there wasn't a lot of booze in the margarita, it was tasty and refreshing. We didn't try the food since we were heading to dinner but there were many who seemed to be enjoying it. I especially liked that for both breakfast and dinner a to-do box was offered so if carrying to room it stayed hot. The parking garage is only a block away and $10/day from Friday to Sunday so rather than valet we just walked from there. The grounds are pretty and it's close to many places downtown for sightseeing. Good job Drury plaza! We will definitely be back.

The room was delightful, this is a historic building with original windows and high ceilings well heated. The staff from valet to the housekeeping was attentive and helpful to our needs. Breakfast and Kickback the food was delicious, the staff was wonderful. Due to an injury the chef and other staff members assisted me in carrying my food to the table. this is a must stay place when in Cleveland.

We had a wonderful experience for most part. Booked online ahead of time. Little confusion to drive into the driveway(construction on their street). The valet came right away. He explained about the $30 parking rate. We chose to valet park instead of going to a parking garage as the $30 rate you could take your car out as much as you needed as still only pay $30 rate for day. The front desk was very friendly and quick. The elevator required your room key to operate. We had a king bed on the second floor over looking the plaza and the fountain. The bed was comfortable. Room was tidy and clean. The 5oclock kickback was amazing! They had grilled chicken strips, Alfredo pasta, steamed Veggies and salad, and potato with bacon soup. We were given our drink cards at check in for 3 drinks. I think we only utilized 2 of the 6 drinks. We did go to the pool later in evening after calling front as COVID you need to ask for time to go as only so many people allowed. It was very crowded a lot of unsupervised children in hot tub and pool. I think a lot to do with COVID because they also counted people who were not swimming too. We did have a end of hallway room but it was after midnight and we could still hear someone playing music. Not sure where it was coming from. The breakfast was great. The staff were always helpful and friendly. This would be our first choice if we were to visit Cleveland again. It was within walking of the Rock and Roll hall of fame, the Browns’s Staduim, the science center, the big Free Stamp, Jacks Casino, the Soilders Monument. The USS Cod.

Valet parking is mandatory at our parking garage. It is $29 + tax covered parking per day. There are several self parking garages in the vicinity of the hotel but guests will have to pay whatever that garage charges and in/out privileges are not typically included.

Good morning, sunnydee2. When you arrive, just pull up to the front of the hotel. The valet will help you unload your car and take responsibility of your vehicle from there. Unfortunately, your Rewards membership doesn't discount the parking fee, just the room charge when you book online signed in to your membership.
