General Hospital Vet’s Return May Be a Good News/Bad News Scenario
The week of December 11 marks the return of beloved General Hospital vet Leslie Charleson to Port Charles. But based on the preview for what’s ahead, it’s not going to be all eggnog and Christmas carols for the much-missed doctor.

In the promo that you can watch below, Tracy, just back from overseas, where she was helping Bobbie untangle Luke’s paperwork, asks her sister-in-law, “Are you ready for this?” And something tells us that neither will Monica or we be ready for it.

Our suspicion is that Charleson has returned for the first time since early 2022 so that Monica will be on hand when the soap addresses the real-life passing of Jacklyn Zeman by, presumably, revealing that Bobbie has died off screen. (Read Zeman’s co-stars’ recollections of her here.)
Zeman and Charleson took the cake on the soap’s 20th anniversary.

Charleson made her General Hospital debut back in 1977 as a recast for Patsy Rahn. In no time, the veteran of As the World Turns and Love Is a Many Splendored Thing had made the pivotal role her own. She and Stuart Damon even went on to elevate bickering marrieds Monica and Alan Quartermaine to supercouple status — in the process, reminding us of how thin is the line between love and hate.
