(Providence-RI)— Irene Mahoney-Paige is joining WLNE-TV/ABC6 in Providence as the stations News Director on July 15th. The announcement was made in Providence by WLNE-TV/ABC6 Vice President and General Manager Chris Tzianabos. “Irene brings years of experience along with fresh, innovative ideas,” Tzianabos said. “An award winning journalist, with a keen news sense, we are thrilled to have her lead the team during this critical time as the station makes the transition to HD.”

A graduate of Emerson College and Edward R Murrow Award Winner, Irene’s experience includes: teaching News Producing at Emerson College, News Writer at WHDH, Boston, News Producer at KCOY in Santa Maria, CA, Executive Producer at XETV in San Diego, CA, Executive Producer at KCBS/KCAL in Los Angeles, CA, News Director at KOIN in Portland OR and Executive Producer at WVIT in Hartford, CT. For the past 3 years she served as Executive Producer at WTIC in Hartford where she was part of the team that led the stations transition from analog to HD.
