Glen Rock High School Reviews
Rating 3.78 out of 5 157 reviews
Overall I had a decent experience. From freshman year to Sophmore year, things were calm. My junior year was terrible being one of the only minorities in the school. They way the administration handled racial and hate crimes against religion and race was wrong and not handled correctly. They want the students to feel comfortable. I did not feel comfy once from the environment.
Overall, a pretty good school with some great teachers. Prepares students well for college and the sports/extracurriculars are also great. One downside is the lack of diversity at school, but overall this town isn't diverse.
Glen Rock High School gives students the benefits of a private school within the public school environment. Administration, guidance counselors and the board of education truly care about the success of their students, adapting courses, clubs and policies if necessary.
In class, we are taught to work collaboratively rather than competitively, and are encouraged to come to teachers office hours. Class sizes are relatively small, especially Junior and Senior year.
Class options are also interesting since the school offers a variety of unique classes such as Statistical Reasoning in Sports, AP Art History, ceramics and more. Glen Rock also has strong school spirit and gives great recognition to its athletes every year.
