We were tired after long walk and sightseeing in Toledo. How lucky we were to find a outdoor table in early evening. The service was excellent and friendly. We couldn't ask more for better food quality for a few early dinner snacks. Drinks were served correctly (not easy in today's standard) . Highly recommend to anyone who happen in the area.

I read about this restaurant o line and it had a really good write up on the food article I read. I also liked it was near the train station so perfect for lunch after exploring Toledo. The staff were super friendly, and the chipirones de plancha were the best squid I may have ever had. Definitely recommend it as a fun last stop before taking the train back to Madrid

After a very long drive from Sanlucar de Barrameda, we happened upon this restaurant opposite the train station. What luck! Our host was charming and his food utterly delicious: so beautifully presented, so fresh and tasty! The ine as delicious too! We were thrilled by our chance find and will most return. Very strongly recommended!

We accidentally found this place as we had to bridge time until our train went back to Madrid. It is conveniently located across the Toledo train station with great wine and food selection. Great and kind attentive service and in family business for 50 years as we learned in our time there. We enjoyed our two hours bridge time a lot there. Support the local businesses! 🥰 I’ll definitely come back…

We had lunch at As de Espadas on our way to Toledo. It is a delightful restaurant. Created in 1973 by the parents it is now run by the sons. The food is exquisite and service is friendly. We spent a little over €40 per person. The menu includes fish, meat and vegetarian dishes. Fresh fruit for desert and of course the unavoidable delicious torta de queso (so much better and lighter than American cheese cake!) and cafe corto. Hope to be back!

The restaurant is modern and cozy. The service was friendly and we liked the taste of the food, partridge for me and lambshoulder for my husband. The presentation was poor with a plate of fries for the two of us, no vegetables ! The wine was good.

Quiet modern restaurant opposite the train station. Warm welcome and very good service. The dishes are real Spanish .; The presentation is zero but the taste is superior. Nice wine list and everything on a reasonable price.

Very convenient if you need to take a train ( or even not the case is worth to eat there). Good food typical from the region with some more international (tuna tataki) Not cheap, but not expensive. Service OK.

Service and atmosphere is quite good, but quality cooking is far away from what you expect to receive for what you pay. It is clearly an strategy high-price cooking target, cause every thing is overpriced: beer 4€, a “slice” bread 2.5€, second courses from 20€ (even is white meat or low-mid cost meat/fish) and so on.. That should not be a problem if raw materials quality, but certainly our experience was to have an “elastic” (so not fresh) cod. Other mistakes from a high-priced restaurant is to put French fries with a marinade which get potatoes wet (apart from putting French frites is quite low-cost accompaniment)

You now that unicorn? This place is it! It’s tipical Spanish food, prepared to the highest standard and I can’t say enough how amicable the owners are. We stopped in while waiting for the train with my family, and we where so well feed and taken care of! Can’t say enough good things about this place. 5 stars no doubt!

Waiting for the train to Madrid, my wife and I stopped at the little restaurant across the street and sat at a table on the sidewalk. What a nice experience great sangrias and small plates of olives and mussels (gratis). Average price but good value - i recommend this little gem.

Having spent the day in Toledo we walked back to the beautiful Moorish train station. There are limited offerings nearby for relaxation and refreshment. We selected "As de espadas" as the best option and it was on the shaded side of the street. Our waiter was lovely and attentive. Constant Companion was impressed that in between orders he was reading a book. We each ordered two vinos and were brought tapas of fresh mussels and a Spanish Tortilla. Both were tasty. The bill for the wines was 20 Euros but we knew the price when we ordered. Given the available options we would return.

We called in to this fairly small bar opposite the railway station in Toledo just before catching the train back to Madrid - I wish we hadn't. The beer was fine but when I went to settle the bill, the waiter initially told me it was 5 euros but the more senior waiter muttered something in Spanish and the bill was immediately changed to 8 euros! It appears that they make up the price to suit the clientele - one price for the tourists and another for the locals. Two 25cl beers for 8 euros!!! This has to be one of the most expensive places to have a beer in Spain. We have had wonderful experiences everywhere else we have been to in Spain and last week in Portugal but this one just leaves a nasty taste in the mouth. You have been warned!!
