I loved this place!! It definitely has a charm and a quaintness to it. This hotel is a soft cool place to land after spending hours in the blazing hot sun at Cedar Point. The beds were super comfy, the air conditioning was great and you can see the pool lit up at night from the courtyard/ second floor rooms. So charming. Sandy in housekeeping was lovely and so nice to us also. Check in is a breeze and the two guys that greeted us at check in were kind and welcoming and they hand you ice cold bottles of water at the desk. What more could you ask for. We (3 of us) stayed in a room with two queen beds and a small bathroom. I would say definitely bring your own shampoo and soap as there are those plastic soap dispensers in he sink, bathroom and shower. Hotel is also close to many stores, restaurants and practically around the corner from the park, just minutes away. Parking at the hotel is a breeze. We stayed at a more pricey chain last time and it didn’t have half the charm of this place.
We will definitely book this place again if we ever come back to Cedar Point.

I am impressed with this hotel. Very clean and comfortable beds. Pool is awesome with deep end and water slides. I can’t believe the price also. We were able to get 2 adjoining rooms for the same price you would pay for one room at a chain hotel. We will definitely be back next time we we go to Cedar Point!

My husband and I loved the old time charm as depicted in the pictures on line and why we chose the family establishment as opposed to a chain run hotel.
We were more than pleased with the courtesy starting at the front desk at check in until the time we left. Not only were the rooms impeccable upon arrival, but my husband ( who is extremely sensitive to smells), noticed how fresh and clean smelling it all was.
We visited the pool and while it daughter played we sat in the hot tub enjoying the beautiful landscaping and continued cleanliness of the pool area.
Betty, the custodial engineer, greeted us early that morning with a smile and then continued on with her cleaning responsibilities after sharing some historical information with us. Sandy was busy in the dining area keeping the breakfast foods stocked and the area clean.
We appreciate the staff and the facility and we will be back whenever we travel through from IN to NY.

We stayed for 3 nights on a trip to Cedar Point and it was absolutely everything we needed.
It was clean, accessible, and cozy.
It has definitely not been fully renovated or updated since the mid 20th century, but honestly that added to the charm for us.
We paid about $100 a night for a 2 queen bed room, and that felt just right or even a bit under what it was worth in 2022, ESPECIALLY since we spent most of our time at Cedar Point and not the hotel.
The staff was super friendly and helpful, check in/out was great.
It's in a perfect location if you're trying to bop into/out of Cedar Point quickly.
A few downsides to note, even though they didn't detract enough to lower my rating: 1) The washing machine was broken, and it would have been nice to wash some stuff after a few days at a theme park 2) we didn't get a "do not disturb" sign for our door
We never ate breakfast there, so no idea how that is
But overall - if you're looking for a good home base on a Cedar Point trip - South Shore Inn is a great, clean, safe option!

The hotel was nice and clean. The shower pressure was good and the water heated quickly. The a/c worked great. The pool had a shallow and deep end and a small slide. We did have some issues with noise from other rooms after 11pm. The wifi was terrible, I ended up just using data. It was in a nice location, about 15 minutes from nickle plate beach and 30 minutes from marble head and port Clinton. Over all it was a pleasant stay.

Decided to get away before the 4th of July weekend for couple days we got a 3 room suite two double beds in one room with a bathroom a living area with the kitchen in the second area and a king bed with a Jack and Jill bathroom into the kitchen area there was four of us we had so much room completely enjoyed our stay. The pool with the slide was a huge hit with my grandkids we completely enjoyed it. The staff was great and accommodating and a great big shout-out to Sandy the housekeeper who was always there to help out and give us any information. Very reasonably priced rooms that were clean will definitely come back there again.

We slept here after a trip to Cedar Point and were very happy with our accommodations. We stayed inside the main building, and the room was quiet, clean, and smelled fresh. The staff (Sandy from housekeeping and everyone at the front desk) were there to help anytime you needed it. We also enjoyed the pool and free breakfast. We will definitely book this hotel again in the future.

When visiting Cedar Point or anything in this area, I would highly recommended this hotel. It is very close to Cedar point which makes it very convenient. Literally around the corner. The hotel is very clean, and the customer service is top-notch! There is a washer and dryer on site that we were able to use and it worked great (make sure to bring quarters $2 load). Check in and check out were a breeze.

We stayed at south shore inn for our trip to cedar point. We had 2 rooms both rooms were very clean and smelled clean. The staff was very friendly. After the first night the following morning the housekeeper Sandy was so nice and polite. She offered cleaning services but we didn't figure she needed to clean until we was gone so she gave us clean towels and toilet paper and trash bags. She was so friendly talked to me like she had known me my whole life. The breakfast of the morning is so good hot pancakes and everything is stocked . Betty does a great job keeping up with the dining. Betty was so friendly. Everyone treated us like family. I love the home town feel of this establishment. Great job guys keep up the great work. If we stay in Sandusky again this is where I will be staying and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean friendly quiet place to rest.

My family of 8 stayed here for two nights for a Cedar Point day. We stayed in 102/103, three room suite. Upon arrival, we immediately noticed our shoes were sticking to the floor in the living room. There was rust around the door frames. The bathroom in the king bedroom was filthy around the floor corners. The walls have had bad patch and paint jobs. I did not feel comfortable walking through the rooms with bare feet. I did notice the coffee pot in the kitchenette area, but there was no plug in that area to plug in the coffee pot. The microwave looked antique. There was a burn/scorch mark on the counter in the kitchenette. The overhead light in the king room did not work. The free WiFi did not work in the room either. We paid over $800 for the two nights. With such great ratings on Trip Advisor and Booking.com we were shocked at the quality of this room and incredibly disappointed.

We are very disappointed to see that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We take cleanliness very seriously and clearly fell short this time, this year just like many other small businesses we have been operating with an extremely short staff, while also seeing a greater number of travelers to the area which means we are struggling to meet demand of manning the front desk and trying to clean 70+ rooms in less than 4 hours. We apologize for the inconvenience you faced with your Wi-Fi connection, we do have high speed access available with an access point located either side of your room which is right next to the lobby. However we can understand the frustration of not being able to connect and so we do have a seating area adjacent to the lobby where you would be able to log in. Although we have an older property with a classic open brick look, the interiors of our rooms were just recently renovated with new beds, carpeting, drapery and more. We always aim to provide great value for money and actually have lower rates than many large chains in town. In cases such as yours we would happily provide you with a new room, however throughout your entire two night stay we did not receive any comments from you. We work very hard to provide a positive experience for all our guests however this is very difficult for us to do without feedback from guests while they are here. We take your comments very seriously and will be making the needed changes to improve our overall guest experience.
