Biography

Hamilton Joseph Keyes O'Malley was born in 1910. Some sources say at Dublin in Ireland but others say Farnborough in Hampshire. In any event, his birth was registered in Hampshire.^[1] He was the son of Middleton Joseph Keyes O'Malley, an officer in the Royal Field Artillery, and his wife Jane Byrnes Malley. He was recorded in Farnborough in the 1911 UK census,^[2] and his parents took him to the USA on the "Mauretania".^[3] In 1916 his last name was changed by his father to O'Malley-Keyes, but in 1941 he went back to calling himself O'Malley.

On 15 Feb 1941, privately at St Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Haywards Heath, Sussex, and then publicly at St Mary's Church, Brantridge Park, Balcombe, Sussex, he married Lady Iris Victoria Beatrice Grace Mountbatten, only child of Lord Alexander Albert Mountbatten, 1st Marquess of Carisbrooke, a grandson of Queen Victoria, and his wife Lady Irene Frances Adza Denison.^[4] They had no children and were divorced on 24 Sep 1946.

On 25 Jan 1947 at Richmond, Yorkshire, he married Eleanor Mary Winifred de Pentheny O'Kelly, known as Sadie.^[5] They had four sons and a daughter before divorcing on 15 Dec 1970.

On 4 Jan 1971 at Chelsea Registry Office, London, he married Elizabeth Mary (Betty) Wallers, also known as Saunders or Pope,^[6] and they had no children.

He died on 31 Mar 1989 at Villa Marysol in Benalmádena,
