Sending your kid to ESD is the best long term decision you can make. The best college prep school in DFW, and I would argue in Texas as well.
It was a great life changing experience at ESD that has shaped me into the woman I am today. I was able to learn and grow in an environment in which I was supported, elevated and valued as an individual. Go Eagles!!!
The quality and expertise of the teachers is by far the biggest advantage ESD holds over other schools. The teachers are also friendly, caring, and always willing to help. They greatly contribute to the school culture as well, regularly attending athletic events and fine arts performances. Academically, most are very knowledgeable about their respective subjects.
We are so impressed by The Episcopal School of Dallas (ESD). The campus is beautiful, the staff is always helpful, and the students are awe-inspiring! The teachers bring so much knowledge and experience to the school and are real champions for their students. It's just an incredible place all around!
Years ago, ESD might have been viewed as the "second best" alternative under St. Mark's School of Texas/Hockaday. Not true today - our child's class is stacked with children admitted everywhere. ESD is now one of the most competitive private schools in the metroplex in terms of admissions.
It is a truly special place, our family is loving ESD.

I wouldn't go anywhere else. ESD has made me a curious critical thinker and has given me an inseparable and supportive community for life. ESD values passion and creates an environment where your voice is heard.
Going to ESD was the best investment of my life thus far - academics are unrivaled, college counseling is incredible, many sports and clubs are offered, and the diversity/culture are better than any other school in Texas. ESD taught me discipline and prepared me for college far more than my peers at other schools.
ESD is a phenomenal school where teachers really invest in their students' development, academically and personally. I go to school with some of the most hard-working and well-rounded students I know.
ESD was my home since Kindergarten and treated me well. It prepared me so well for what was to come and I couldn't have gone to a better school. ESD is the best school in the DFW area and one of the best in Texas
My experience at ESD was nothing short of exceptional. The teachers were enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and their passion for teaching was evident in every lesson. The programs were well-structured and provided ample opportunities for personal and academic growth. Additionally, the school fostered a strong sense of community and belonging, which made it easy to form lasting friendships and connections. Overall, I highly recommend The Episcopal School of Dallas to anyone seeking a top-tier education.
I love ESD, I'm not sure I've ever said that before out loud but it's true, it's very tough and stressful but as a junior I know what I'm going through is totally worth it in the end. 99% of the teachers are phenomenal, they will help you at literally any hour of the day any day of the week. The courses are very challenging but it's a college prep school so that's a given.
I attended ESD from Kindergarten to graduation. I have many wonderful memories and have made friends for life. We had such an accepting and close-knit community that everyone made you feel welcome instantly. It more than prepared me for college. With its demanding classes, and brilliant teachers, ESD was definitely the ideal college preparatory school.
The Episcopal School of Dallas is more than a school. It is a community that you can trust to support your family with building well rounded , inquisitive and conscientious children. Their curriculum is open-ended but with well thought direction in the early years so your child can feel confident in their academic and social surroundings. When they reach middle school ESD is well versed with what is required to enter competitive public as well as private schools. Our daughter joined ESD in middle school and was accepted into one of the top private universities. Three years behind, her brother, who is a very different learner, has been nurtured and challenged to find his very best self.
Both my kids are in high school at ESD and it is the perfect school for them because of the low teacher to student ratio, small total class size and strength and encouragement in both arts and sciences. The academics are hard and there is some pressure as there are a lot of very smart students at ESD. The teachers are excellent and I’ve found the families warm and friendly and a great mix and diversity amongst the students.
Everything is state of the art at ESD! They truly try to keep everything as updated as possible, even in the older buildings. Teachers are always there to help and they truly care about the students. The guidance counselors are always available and they even provide each student with their own college counselor.
ESD offers a peaceful, welcoming environment that engages learning and fosters creativity in all subjects. The small class size and the interaction with the teachers daily and after-school tutoring have done miracles in helping me to maintain a high GPA and to get accepted at my first choice university.
My experience at ESD was one that shaped the course of my life. Not only did the rigorous coursework strengthen my academic abilities and prepare me well for college, the school had a profound impact on my character development, and I leave the school a better man. In addition, the community that the school fosters is like no other, and in no other place do I find the same density of excellent mentors, dependable friends, and good people.
ESD offers students a huge selection of resources form college prep and counselling, to great facilities. The teachers at ESD rank from very good to outstanding. I've never had a bad teacher at ESD.
I honestly could not see myself anywhere else. ESD is a great school. Great peers. Great teachers. The teachers are very committed to students learning and understanding of the material. The resources and facilities are phenomenal. All of the staff are helpful and make it their mission to keep us safe and happy. The school spirit in general is like none other.
We are incredibly impressed with ESD and it’s approach to education. The holistic approach of educating the whole child is something that a lot of schools no longer seem focused on. In this day and age seeing our child blossom as a caring citizen, leader, teammate and friend are more than we expected. Being a kid who always found the academics easy, she is having to put in more time effort than ever before. We are completely satisfied on that front as well. Athletics are not treated as the main focus here but rather part of a healthy lifestyle. We love this balanced view on leading a healthy life.
