You can always enjoy tasty sandwiches, salads and fish at Downstairs. Beer lovers will find it good. It's nice to order great coffee.

Terrific employees are the only thing that can spoil your evening at this place. From the visitors' point of view, prices are affordable. But this spot hasn't earned a high rating from Google users.

I had a 7 hr layover and stayed in the neighborhood, I loved the variety at this deli/market. Had the mulado (black beans and rice), plantain and Picadillo and a greàt suggestion by the gal who worked there. It was flavorful and super filling. Portions were huge. didn't mind that English was limited, our Spanish immigrants are here working hard and I love the ethnic mix in Miami. Also picked up a needed charger some coconut water and a desperately needed charger for the phone. Truly a unique spot. Hope to come back.

As much as I frequent Miami Springs, I did not have the pleasure of trying it until Hurricane Irma. My mom had often times mentioned Downstairs but I literally thought she meant she went downstairs of a building. Judgment free zone here. After Irma passed, this restaurant was our saving grace as it was primarily the only place in Miami Springs. We were out of power for practically a week and ate here everyday for breakfast. Lunch we had covered. Salads never tasted so good. It was during this time that I fell in love with their cafe con leche. Now let me stop here for a moment. My job has a cafeteria and I typically would get my cafe con leche from there. Little did I know that I was missing out on GOOD cafe con leche all this time. Now this is a frequent stop for me in the mornings; if I am not in a Starbucks mood. Thank goodness it's on my way to work! The lady that makes it, makes it just the way I like each. and. every. time. (Yes I did that on purpose for a dramatic effect). Thank you Downstairs for being my family's saving grace during the Hurricane Irma aftermath.
