FitzGeorge family

Sarah Fairbrother (calling herself Louisa and known from 1859 as Mrs FitzGeorge; 31 October 1814 – 12 January 1890) was an English actress and the mistress of Prince George, Duke of Cambridge, a male-line grandson of George III. As the couple married in contravention of the Royal Marriages Act 1772, their marriage was not recognised under the law.

Prince George, Duke of Cambridge, (George William Frederick Charles; 26 March 1819 – 17 March 1904) was a member of the British Royal Family, a male-line grandson of King George III, cousin of Queen Victoria, and maternal uncle of Queen Mary, consort of King George V. The Duke was an army officer by profession and served as Commander-in-Chief of the Forces (military head of the British Army) from 1856 to 1895. He became Duke of Cambridge in 1850 and field marshal in 1862. Deeply devoted to the old Army, he worked with the Queen to defeat or minimize every reform proposal, such as setting up a general staff. His Army became a moribund and stagnant institution, lagging far behind France and Germany. Its weaknesses were dramatically revealed by the poor organization at the start of the Second Boer War.

Olga FitzGeorge (Olga Mary Adelaide FitzGeorge Hamilton Lane; 11 June 1877 – 15 October 1928) was a British socialite, businessperson, and morganatic descendant of King George III through her grandfather, Prince George, Duke of Cambridge. FitzGeorge was the only daughter and child of Rear Admiral Sir Adolphus FitzGeorge and his wife Sophia Jane Holden FitzGeorge.

Rosa Frederica Baring FitzGeorge (9 March 1854 - 10 March 1927), was the second daughter of Mr. William Henry Baring, J.P. and Elizabeth Hammersley, of Norman Court in West Tytherley, Hampshire, England. She was a descendent of the famous Sir Francis Baring of the Baring banking family. Her maternal uncle was Thomas Weguelin, partner of Thomson, Bonar, and Company of London, Director and Governor of the Bank of England.

Colonel Sir Augustus Charles Frederick FitzGeorge KCVO, CB (12 June 1847 – 30 October 1933) was a British Army officer and a relative of the British royal family. FitzGeorge was born in 1847 to Prince George, Duke of Cambridge, and his wife Sarah Fairbrother. His parents' marriage contravened the Royal Marriages Act 1772 and not officially recognized, thus FitzGeorge was ineligible to inherit the Dukedom of Cambridge.

George Edward Archibald Augustus FitzGeorge Hamilton (30 December 1898 – 18 May 1918) was a British Army officer during World War I and a distant relative of the British royal family. He was the only son of Sir Archibald Hamilton, 5th Baronet and Olga FitzGeorge, and was the heir to the Hamilton baronetcies of Trebinshun House and Marlborough House.
