This was a really lovely stay in a 5* location with wonderful staff. As others have said, the fabric of the hotel might be a little tired, but this is more than compensated for. We loved listening to the lazy sea on the beach nearby, and a walk along the beach at sunset, it was very romantic.
The catering was good and the staff really worked hard to improve all aspects of the service during our stay, for which we remain grateful. Please understand this is not a 5* hotel, and you would no doubt find better food elsewhere, but we never took that option and were quite happy.
Plenty of activities are on offer from the Nexus team based near the pool. The Aerial Tram in the rainforest and the Sunset Piton Cruise are just two that we tried and enjoyed. In fact we got engaged on the sunset cruise and found our bed decorated on our return to the hotel, the staff really made an effort!
We think the staff are the best we have encountered, nothing was too much trouble and they always had a smile!

Excellent location, average food but fine for us. Simple and fresh, 2 meats and fish, veg, pulses and salad, some staff lovely, some completely disinterested.. definately hit and miss. 2nd post : After 4 days and what seems like some managment intervention, things have definately picked up. The BBQ around the pool and the fire eating dancers was impressive and a lot of hard work from the staff, well done ! Vanessa, an excellent manager there, is working really hard to train the staff and set levels of expection and service. We saw a gradual and slight improvement everyday, still some way to go though, either via training or recruitment. We were often asked "would we like a drink or a glass of wine", the server would then dissapear and we would never get it, its a shame, we just went and got one from the bar..We are not 5 star people really and agree with the current 3 star rating. There will always be a more laid back attitude in the islands. A few tips: please put dessert forks and spoons out for desserts, more chairs needed in the largely empty atrium/lobby, there is no where near enough seating for people after dinner. Vanessa please keep up the good work ! On the whole it was a pleasant experience and a wonderful location.

5 star experience apart from a lady called Cristal who made my stay absolutely awful and one I will never forget as being the worst trip I’ve ever had. She was disgustingly rude and unprofessional every single time I asked for something. I asked her questions and she huffed every single time. I have never known service like it. I am trying to get through to the owner to make a severe formal complaint. As much as everything else is amazing, I therefore cannot recommend this hotel to anybody because Cristel is the receptionist and is there for all your problems.

We booked for Starfish and on arrival - literally at the gate - we were told that the hotel is being used by the St Lucian Government as a Covid isolation facility. The security guard directed us to the neighbouring hotel which is owned by the same company. The alternative was fine but some warning that your hotel is closed would have been nice, not the best thing to find out late at night after a long plane journey.

We have just returned from a two week holiday at the Starfish St Lucia. A small hotel on the beach a little tired in places but very friendly. our room was basic but adequate and a big thank you to Patsy who cleaned our room every day. The buffet restaurant breakfast was great especially Amy who cooked the most fantastic omelettes, lunch ok dinner poor as many dishes were spicy or overcooked. Also it mentions on the website three restaurants one italian and one oriental these were not open every night and you have to book. Snack bar by the beach lovely but same menu every day. two bars swim up bar which closes at 6 and the lobby bar, it would be nice to have an outdoor bar in the evenings. A lovely view point which at some point did have a bar overlooking the ocean but sadly not now also as there is plenty of rain the furniture was not put undercover at night so soaking wet the next day. one final thing a lot of dirty glasses were left on shelves . Just small things that need tweaking but on the whole we have a lovely holiday.

Tried this hotel in December 2019 and it was worth it for the price. The Staff was excellent, the food was superb and the location is just perfect. The only thing i thought needed improvement was the bathroom. Its way too tiny. Other than that if you're looking for an all inclusive spot in St. Lucia in the North of the island where it won't break your pocket, then Starfish is the place for you. We already tried to revisit but the place was booked solid, and i'm so not surprised. It was worth it.

My second visit to the Starfish St Lucia. Unfortunately nothing has changed. The condition of the resort has declined. No umbrellas for the beach. Rooms are very dated and are in poor condition. They need to start investing in this resort. It is the best location. The bones are there . The room was old and dated, bed was ok. linens are clean, room is kept clean by the housekeeping staff. Food has improved over the last visit. Lots of fresh vegetables and different fish and meat options. There isnt a massive buffet. They have just the right amount. Deserts were very nice as well. I would say they could improve upon the fruit . Please avoid putting out tinned fruit. I loved the days where there was fresh fruit. Staff are what make this resort what it is. They are very nice and make an effort to get to know you. So management invest in the resort so that people want to come back!!!

This resort is very nice, great location, nice beach, well maintain and close to stores, restaurants and bars. Although all the people working there are very enthusiastic, Anastasie who work as bartender near the dinning room stand out. She was always smilling, pay attention to clients and very knowledgeable to do any kind of drink the customers wishes. If you ever go there try her drinks.

A very mixed experience and what we expected having ready many previous reviews.
We were certainly not expecting a 5-star hotel but there are some basics that really should be improved to make this a great 3-star hotel.
Cons:
the shower facilities were totally unacceptable in our room despite repeated requests to get it fixed.
There simply were not enough sun beds and umbrellas for the number of guests, so you get the crazy situation where people were leaving towels out overnight and during a tropical downpour to reserve a sun bed.
Constant shortages of glasses, beer, cutlery etc
Food was ok, a bit hit and miss and the choice was limited
Service was very slow I think mainly because not enough staff and badly organised.
Pros:
Great location for the beach and also Rodney Bay.
Beds were very comfortable and air conditioning worked well in our room.
Rooms were clean but tired.
As a red wine drinker I was pleased to find the wine was quite good.
Guests and most of the staff were very friendly
Overall, we had a lovely holiday, but I don’t think we would return to Starfish again.

My husband and I were here in October and we couldn't fault it all all. We arrived in a tropical storm, the rain was lashing and we were greeted by the friendliest staff and a rum punch! The rooms were very clean. The staff went above and beyond. The outdoor grill and the restaurants were lovely, as was the food and the views were outstanding. We had a couple of issues in the room - the aircon was leaking and on a separate occasion there was no electricity - but both issues were sorted out within 10 minutes. On our last day, we were given complimentary late check out, which was so kind of the staff. We are definitely looking to go back as soon as possible

We were similarly worried before we went end January/beg February. I agree with the answer from Familytraveller13, we found it a lovely place to stay, if you can get an ocean view room as the beach is great and the pool area can be noisy during the day (music always stopped at 6pm). We liked the food, very Caribbean, drinks were fine and some waiting but never too much. Things to do there- enjoy the beach, good snorkelling if you walk to the left and swim out from the beach bar. Use the sunset bar as much as possible, not always open but just get drinks at the pool or inside bar and walk over, great view and usually quiet. You can get great boat trips from Ázim on the beach ( Bennys tours, wears a red cap) better value and more fun than the motor catamaran ones most people go on. Also took one from the water taxi guys on the beach, very Caribbean! We were very glad we went, you’ll never get such a good value holiday in the Caribbean again!
