Kinnear confirms new role expected for Stuart Dallas at Leeds

Angus Kinnear confirms new role on the cards for Stuart Dallas at Leeds United

Leeds United CEO Angus Kinnear has confirmed the club are keen to keep Stuart Dallas at Elland Road.

It was confirmed during the minutes of the club’s April meeting of the Supporters’ Advisory Board that Kinnear expects Leeds to offer hero Dallas a future role with the club.

Dallas, who made 266 appearances across a nine-year spell at Elland Road, announced his retirement from professional football last month after a two-year absence with a serious knee injury.

Kinnear was indirectly quoted as saying in the recent supporter meeting: “Stuart Dallas is extremely thankful for all the support received.

“The club are looking at ways to keep him involved.”

A coaching or academy role could suit the former Northern Ireland international, who claimed upon hanging up his boots that he wants to “inspire the next generation of footballers”.

Stuart Dallas, a Leeds United son fondly remembered

Over the years across both the Premier League and the Championship, Stuart Dallas became part of the furniture at Elland Road and it’s little wonder the club are exploring ways to continue that.

His legacy as a player is one fondly thought of by Leeds fans – a utility man, a grafter, and a player who could pop up with memorable moments. The imaginary away end at the Etihad Stadium when he scored that winner in 2021, absolutely bouncing.

Dallas’ best attributes as a Leeds player are what the Elland Road faithful are crying out for right now, as the club reluctantly ambles into the play-offs in a shaky run of form.
