Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I did not realise that a visit to the local Town Hall would be so interesting. Hannover was flattened during WWII yet the Town Hall argueably Hannover's largest building at the time was virtually untouched. How do I know this? There are 4 large models in the reception area showing what Hannover looked like in medieval times, pre WWII, post WWII and now. These are excellent models.
The view from the dome is fantastic & well worth going.

Great fun. Boat ride was peaceful, it was great to see the animals so close. I think there were 3 large playgrounds which the kids could explore. Hours went by quickly. If I were local, I'd go there almost every other weekend!

The public transport was excellent and easy to navigate using a google map. The food was delicious and not very pricey. The people were kind and super helpful.

First weekend of June had totally clear skies and above average temperatures so no wonder it was packed with people.
It's a big lake with many activities on it and around it. At the northern end just cross the road and walk to the New Town Hall by the reflecting pond.

Several cities in northern Germany (Berlin, Hamburg, Hannover,...) have such Churches left in the state they were in 1945. Purpose is to remind people on war devastations never to happen again.
Aegidienkirche is set in the very center and there used to be a Church here from 12 century onwards which was several times rebuilt over centuries. Intense allied bombing 1943-45 left the Tower standing but the Church roofless. Beneath the bell tower you can find a bell from Hiroshima as a present from Japanese government.

It was nice, I just wish that I would have known upfront that the basement was closed. I would also suggest creating more sitting areas for the disabled/old/pregnant/tired people amongst us.

This forest is highly recommended for walking, biking, jogging or just chill and get fresh air. Best time to visit in the midday.

I haven't had chance to visit the bigger garden yet (Herrenhauser garten). This place is really good if you have less time to explore. They have a lot of tropical plants and trees. Don't miss the cactus garden.

We were there last weekend. Very pleasant experience and a tremendous show. It was a modern performance and the light effects were amazing. Very good performers.

Really great place to see underwater creatures, quite exciting place for kids. Not very big but they have very beautiful collection. Worth spending an afternoon.

Next door to the Marktkirche is this medieval Town Hall. It's in classic German red brick with high gables - a very nice and eye catching edifice.
However, I don't know its purpose today as the City offices moved to the imposing new Town Hall. Anyway, a nice photo op while strolling Hannover Altstadt.

We went to Landesmuseum and plunged in natural history with a lot of families with kids, enjoying all the fish and wild animals on display. Going up, we visited temporary exhibition The Real Thing collating paintings of old masters with some of the works of Glenn Brown (mainly portraits and landscapes). Interesting contrasts that convey their message to the visitor.

The building itself is an architectural beauty located opposite the New Town Hall palace and close to Maschsee and Aegidienkirche.
