Philadelphia Eagles 'Flavor': Can Jalen Hurts Improve Under Dallas Cowboys Ex Kellen Moore?

The Philadelphia Eagles are "Sleeping With The Enemy'' in a sense in an effort to make quarterback Jalen Hurts even better ... with Dallas Cowboys ex Kellen Moore now the offensive coordinator here - and talking about the "flavor'' that the teaming up should bring.

"I think everyone's got their different flavor from a systematic approach," Moore said this week. "Our real focus here, as we've gone through this process, is we've got a lot of good going on.''

Moore is talking about the roster. But of course it all revolves around the quarterback, who is tasked with taking Hurts to another level - or, maybe better said, tasked with getting Hurts back to where he once was.

Hurts - in 2022 the runner-up to Patrick Mahomes in the MVP race and then in the Chiefs-over-Eagles Super Bowl LVII - in the minds of some regressed as a passer last season. We'd argue there is mostly good stuff to build on here; Moore agrees.

"It's something that Jalen's done a phenomenal job with, and we'll obviously continue to embrace,'' Moore said of Hurts the runner, adding, "How can we build off of those things and really connect the whole thing? That's been a really fun process. There will be tweaks. There will be changes. Everything is constantly evolving. That's part of this whole offseason program."

Moore has a well-earned reputation for being "the smartest guy in the room.'' But during his time in Dallas working with Dak Prescott, he also demonstrated an ability as a communicator and a relationship-builder. He's doing that now here.

“I've really enjoyed our conversations. I think he's a really smart player,” Moore said of Hurts. “He has a great feel for this game. The more conversations we have, the more we get to make these adjustments and build off of this thing.

"Jalen's one of the premier quarterbacks in this league for a reason.”

And by working with Kellen Moore, has a chance to be even more "premier.''
