The Glades resort is located off of State Road 80 just shy of Labelle,Florida heading West. The resort offers 420 + sites with 30\50 amp service, water, sewer and WIFI. The sites are grass and are fairly level. We travel in a Class C and suggest you bring leveling blocks. We enjoy the 9 hole golf course and prefer to be close to the clubhouse and pool. The Caloosahatchee river boarders the North end of the property. The view is beautiful and peaceful. The Marina offers access for small boats or kayaking. Sites are available with a Marina views. There is a new recreation center, a heated pool, a laundry room and lots of bike riding! Horses and cattle roam the property adjacent to the campground.
We enjoy the campground in the winter months as there are activities offered throughout the "snowbird" season. The summer can be extremely warm and the campground offers very little shade. We stay close to the pool. We do not travel far from the campground during our
stay. There are so locks located to the West that are interesting and beautiful to see. We especially like the cost point. The amenities for the price are great!

On a positive note, the rates are great 300 plus taxes a week, gold is right there for under 15 dollars a round. Heated pool, breakfast and lunch Cafe, marina if you have a boat and want to go fishing, lots of room so if you are having difficulty getting in someplace, you likely will here. They deliver propane to your site.

On the negative, they advertise this as an RV Resort. I suggest it could be over time but right now it is a campground.

The RV park is outstanding and full of amenities. The marina could stand some upgrading to bring it up to the level of the RV portion of the park. The marina staff are very friendly and accommodating. The added use of a golf cart makes the entire park's amenities available to the marina guests. We will stay again if our waterway travels permit.

The staff never cracks a smile, they are all very rude, not helpful at all. They all hate their job, and hate their mgr, and it shows. The office girls are petrified of the overzealous rulemaker of a manager. I was in there getting my mail one day and Marci was just yelling at the poor front desk girl. Her facial expression was of embarrassment. It’s too bad she has no backbone. And her husband works in maintenance and trash pick up. He’s a piece of work, that chain smoking character never had a nice thing to say as he flicks his cigarette butt. The electric had surges all the time, the water went off everyday for an hr. The golf course was over priced for what you got, super slow greens. Weeds everywhere. I won’t be back

Nice, large sites with concrete pads for chairs and table. No cable, but if you don't have DISH or DIRECT TV, you'll still get quite a bit of channels over your antenna. Very pet friendly. Friendly campers, LOTS of activities, and extremely clean, heated pool that's attached to a very large, well appointed activity center. Nice deck around pool with lounge chairs and umbrellas. Great selection for a campground library exchange; laundry facilities and showers/restrooms are very clean. Nice, small restaurant on site that's open until 2 each day, with occasional Friday night dinners. If you're looking for a quiet place that's not part of the hustle and bustle of Ft. Myers, this is the place for you. Ft. Myers; Punta Gorda 1 hr away...Bonita Springs 1.5. Lehigh Acres 45 minutes. On-site 9 hole golf course that's in very good condition. Golf cart rental and Florida Wi-Fi available. If you like to fish, Lake Okochobee is nearby. LaBelle and Clewiston have restaurants/shopping amenities.

We were taking our boat across the Okeechobee Waterway and needed a place to stop for the evening. We were past Clewiston and on our way to LaBelle with a lock crossing between us and LaBelle. We saw the Glades Marina on the waterway map and I looked it up on-line. I wanted a taste of Old Florida so the idea of staying in the middle of the state was very appealing. The web-site certainly captured the best of this park and the descriptions may be a little deceptive in the sense that both portray a pretty fancy place ... and this is not. Which was perfect for my desire to experience Old Florida, but may catch others unaware. I called the park and got an answering machine so I found the marina part of the web page and found the number for the Dock Master. The Dock Master answered immediately and assured me that they could accommodate our 43 ft. boat and that they had the needed power and tie off amenities. So we tootled our way down the river and passed right on by (oops) so I called Rick (the Dock Master) and he rode out on a golf cart to the entrance to the marina and he flagged us down as we came back up the river. He and a current live aboard resident were there to greet us as we entered their marina (a sort of lagoon that is home to three alligators one of which is 12 feet long .. very cool) we pulled up to some solid but crooked and weather beaten docks. Nothing fancy but completely adequate and for me, it only added to the charm. Rick and the live aboard resident helped us tie off and hook up our electric. We changed and Rick gave us a ride up to the pool, but only after offering to give us a ride into LaBelle for provisions. We didn't need provisions so we headed to the pool. The pool could have used a good cleaning, but it was off season and we weren't expected so I didn't get to concerned about that. the pool is a decent size and the bathrooms and showers were very very nice. When Rick picked us back up he had his wife, Theresa, with him and they gave us a tour of the property. The waterway views are incredible. It was worth the stop just to see that! We spent the evening on the back of the boat bbq'ing at chatting with residents. Later we stood on the bow of the boat just to hear the night sounds and listen to nature. I obviously really enjoyed our stay at the Glades Marina. The very best part was the people. I'd go back just for that. But I really enjoyed the old Florida feel of this place. We had been staying at nice marinas on the East coast of Florida and this was completely different. I was looking so forward to a middle of Florida, old Florida experience and this place and these people totally delivered. It was a highlight of the trip. We'll go back just to visit with Rick and Theresa and to say hello to "The Machine" (the big alligator) .. so fun! I do want to be honest though, the grounds are not high end. I can see why some people complained about the pool etc. I didn't really see the golf course so I can't comment on that. We were there after season so the park was not full the amenities (they have a grill and a bar) were shut down for season so I can't comment on the activities, but the RV sites looked large and nice. In the end, if you go in looking for the experience of old Florida and great people, if you want great views and quiet evenings, if you want to see wild life and aren't afraid of some up close views of alligators .. Come here. It's perfect.

We were co-hosts for a rally of 15 rvs at this park. The sites are very big, but mostly grass with a concrete patio. The hookups all functioned properly but, as noted by the previous reviewer, there is little in the way of shade. The area where the rally rvs are parked is a bit remote from the clubhouse and other amenities. The activity center (clubhouse) is a lovely building but the kitchen lacks a stove. Also, there were some scheduling conflicts that should have been avoided. For instance, there was a ladies aerobics class scheduled at the same time as one of our breakfasts. That being said, the park staff was much more competent than at our visit last year when, upon checking in, discovered that our spaces hadn't bee assigned. At that time we were told to "go find an empty space and come back and let us know where you're parked." All in all, not a bad camping experience, but with a bit more shade and better scheduling, it could be a great rv resort.

We very much enjoyed our 2 week stay at The Glades. Most of all the residents and fellow campers are cordial and welcoming. While we were there, the residents put on a Luau, with great food and entertainment. A very nice 9 hole, full size golf course runs through and around the spacious campsites. EVERYTHING works ! The pool, the clubhouse and all the ammenities are well kept and updated. You will not be disappointed at The Glades !

Stayed here only one day and night and it was a very nice surprise. After travelling through sugar cane and orange country, then checking out Lewiston and Moore Haven we travelled to The Glades. It's staff are excellent, the site is beautiful with a 9 hole golf course, wide generous lots and the North end has it's own docking in a habour that connects to the canal.

It is park like and the longer term RVer's there were warm and friendly.
There was plenty of birds seen during our relaxing walks, and a crock was settled in on the bank across from one of the pathways along a waterway. People fished off a dock and we relaxed on a bench next to there club house that sits on a small hill overlooking the harbour and canal. It was quiet, peaceful and beautiful.

It even has some cabins for those who prefer that accommodation.

A treat that made us wish we had spent a week here instead of the Fort Lauderdale area.

How are the sites during rainy season? Any chance of flooding?
Answer from Mark
Mississauga, Canada1,677 contribution240 helpful votes
I would say no as the sites are 12 to 15 feet above the river, there are also canals around other parts of the park so they should help get rid of the water. We were there the first week of January and it rained pretty well every day. We were parked on grass in a freightliner, pretty heavy, no issues. I guess the sandy nature of Florida helps drain the water. Hope that helps.
