The Football Association of Hong Kong, China (HKFA) announced today that the “The 2023-24 Hong Kong Top Footballer Awards” organised by the HKFA and co-organised by Hong Kong Sports Press Association and Hong Kong Premier League Committee, will begin accepting public votes from 11:00 AM on May 2.
To recognise the excellent performances of the participating clubs and footballers in the current season of BOC Life Hong Kong Premier League (HKPL), HKFA is going to organise “The 2023-24 Hong Kong Top Footballer Awards” and the awards ceremony will be held on May 28. In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the HKPL, this year's awards ceremony will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, providing a grander occasion for the members of the football community to share the joy and memorable moments.
HKFA held a press conference today at the Jockey Club HKFA Football Training Centre to provide detailed information about “The 2023-24 Hong Kong Top Footballer Awards”. 18 Awards include “Footballer of the Year” (1 winner), “Coach of the Year” (1 winner), “Best XI of the Year” (11 winners), “Young Players of the Year” (2 winners), “Fans’ Favourite” (1 winner), and “Players’ Favourite” (1 winner). In this year's event, a new award called "Best HKRT Player in the HKPL" (1 winner) has been introduced with the goal of encouraging excellent performances by Hong Kong team players throughout this season. Mr. Eric FOK, JP, the Chairman of HKFA stated during the press conference, “‘Hong Kong Top Footballer Awards’ aims to recognise the outstanding performances of coaches and players, and to acknowledge the efforts of members in the football community. I sincerely invite all football fans to vote for their preferred candidates, showing support for the coaches and players.”
For this year's awards, there will be an online voting (www.hkfa.com/vote) starting at 11:00 AM on May 2 and concluding at 11:59 PM on May 26. Furthermore, "Voting support stations" will be available at certain HKPL matches, and details will be announced by HKFA later.
