I am deeply saddened of the news of Stuart, as I just found out..
I would like to send Angel's hugs of comfort, prayers for peace, strength and hope to Stacey in this time and future days to come. Know you will miss him terribly, I have sincere empathy for you,your family,friends and members of the MTB...

Thank you for the Music Stuart! You have touched the hearts of many... Your spirit and music lives on! We now can only imagine the joy in Heaven!(Know Walter will be glad to see you;) So until we all meet again, we shall be joined "Together Forever" in our hearts ;)

I'd like to extend my deepest condolences to your family. I am very saddened to hear of Stuart's passing.
I have been a fan of Stuart for years and was finally able to meet him on the "Legends of Rock" cruise last year. He was a very kind young man and will be missed by everyone who knows him.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To the family, friends and fans of Stuart and MTB, we were so blessed to be given the opportunity to appreciate Stuart and his talent which will always leave a mark on the music industry. May the Lord wrap his loving arms around everyone at this time of loss and in the days to come. His music and legacy will live on as he plays once again with his MTB Brothers through the golden gates of heaven! Thank you Stuart!

What a sad moment in time for Stacey, Stuart's son, grand kids, sister, family, friends,fans and the Marshall Tucker Band.
My heart stopped when I heard the news. Stuart always had a good joke and a smile for everyone, not to mention tremendous talent. Stuart touched so many with his love and laughter....and that smile...I will remember you that way my friend. RIP Stuart and blessings of peace to your family and friends. We will miss you buddy.

Every time the Marshall Tucker Band came to New Mexico or Arizona, we'd try to see them. On one of their trips out west, I had the pleasure of meeting Stuart. One might think such a talented musician would have a big ego. Not Stuart. Meeting him in person was just as rewarding as watching him on guitar or slide guitar. So when I heard that he had passed away, I was stunned. Then I decided to honor him by posting a picture of him as my Facebook profile for two weeks. To Stuart's family and friends, I send my condolences. To Stuart, you touched so many lives. Thank you. Keep making that music in the light.

I was stunned and saddened to hear this. Stuart was one of the nicest people I've met. He will be missed by all that knew him be it personally or just by his playing. I was proud to call him friend. I will miss you my friend.

To Stuart's family - I am so sorry for your loss. We must all go on remembering the good times and his sweet smile. He was so young and sometimes we take for granted that we are going to be here for a long time. Remember each day is a blessing and never forget to tell each other how much you love each other.

In the early to mid 70's Can't You See could be heard blaring from every dorm room in my building! I still blast it on my radio, RIP

Thanks Stuart for stepping in and filling a big hole in the band, after Tommy passed. You helped keep our love of the music alive for many years. I will always remember the first time I saw you play with MTB. I was impressed by your style and ability to recreate what the Caldwells started. RIP Sir. Heaven has a new player in the band.

Wow... still listen to them just about everyday!! Saw them the 1st time in the mid 70's and many times since, love to sing along with them and am pleased to say that my boys, in there late teens enjoy the music as much as I do!! Play it sweet in heaven...you've found your rainbow

Words cannot express my shock and sadness at learning of Stuart's passing. Benny & I love all the MTB family. Stuart was a great musician and all round good guy. Stuart always had a smile and kind word for us. Having just lost Benny last year, I can understand and empathize with your sorrow. Just know that your love & memories of Stuart will comfort you in the days & weeks to come. Rest well Stuart.

Where do I find the words to express my deepest sympathy to Stuart's family and his MTB family? Not only was he an outstanding musician but he was a great guy. I will always remember hanging out with Stuart and other band members and just listening to Stuart laughing or smiling. Stuart my friend, I will miss you.

I meet Stuart in 1990 saw him play at the Buffalo Rose in Golden,CO and many other places as well got to know him and the band quit well,Stuart was a wonderful person and he put smiles on millions of peoples faces with is music.As a matter of fact I named my son Marshall after the band because the memoirs I have of all the good times we had.My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends at this time.

I'll always hold the memories of working with Stuart as Guitar Tech and recording on Face Down in the Blues back in 1998. Stuart was a kind, giving soul with a hilarious sense of humor. I've laughed to tears just listening to him talk. One of the most unique slide guitar players ever. To Stacey and the band...I'm so very sorry for his loss.

So very sorry for the loss of Stuart. MTB has been one of my favorite bands since the mid 70's. May Stuart R.I.P.

He's now playing with the Caldwell brothers for the Angels of God.
