English synthpop group Hot Chip recently convened at NPR Studios to make their Tiny Desk Concert debut. The band delivered a four-song set full of favorites including standouts from 2006’s The Warning and 2012’s Made In The Dark.

Hot Chip’s latest studio album, Freakout/Release, arrived in August 2022. The group released a single, “Fire Of Mercy,” featuring Malaysian-Irish producer and songwriter yunè pinku, last summer.

But for their Tiny Desk debut, Hot Chip — Alexis Taylor (vocals, guitar, keyboard), Joe Goddard (vocals, keyboard), Owen Clarke (keyboard), Rob Smoughton (vocals, guitar) and Leo Taylor (drums) — took a trip through their 2000s and 2010s discography.

Augmented by pedal steel guitarist Jonny Lam, Hot Chip opened the session with two songs, “Over And Over” and “Boy From School,” off The Warning. The ensemble then moved to 2012’s In Our Head with “Look At Where We Are.” The band wrapped things up with the Grammy-nominated “Ready for the Floor” appearing on 2008’s Made in the Dark.
