Both MI and RCB had a chance to break free from the 10-point midfield muddle but both these franchises have fluffed their lines. Tomorrow, two other sides who are stuck in the middle will be in action, starting with LSG who travel to Ahmedabad and then RR hosting a pretty bleak looking SRH. Let's see what tomorrow holds, for now this is Saurabh Shankar signing off on behalf of Nikhil Jadhav and Harish.

Phil Salt | Player of the Match: I spoke before the game about being positive. We knew the wicket was slow and low, and we spoke about playing off the backfoot. I thought 180 was par, I felt we would have to bat really well to get there. (On Mitch Marsh) He came in and hit the second ball for six or something like that, it put bowlers on the backfoot. Loving the support, specially here in Delhi.

David Warner: Amazing. I thought it was a par score, the ball was skidding. But the way we came out led by Phil Salt paved the way. Our intention was to take on Siraj, he's been bowling well and taking wickets early. His wickets have been bowled or LBW so we wanted to drag his length back. Credit to the way the bowlers bowled, Anrich is not there but Ishant is leading the pack with Khaleel. And Kuldeep and Axar as well have been brilliant. It is all about momentum, we are finding the right balance at the right time. Now we go to Chennai and try to get a performance there, I know it will be tough.

Rilee Rossouw: It is a fantastic result. We bowled particularly alright. The way Salty and Warner played was phenomenal. It was a great result for us. The whole squad comes into play, the guys are supportive to the ones who are not playing. Pretty simple and easy. It was pretty tricky to be honest, it was gripping and turning, Salty put us off on a blinder and took the game away from them. 160 was a par score on that wicket. We can't lose another game so we are going out with the freedom to play the way we want. The way we played tonight, you would not suspect we have lost 6 games or how many ever, who knows if we get lucky and get into the knockouts, with the way we are playing, we could be dangerous.

Faf du Plessis: I felt it was pretty close, I thought 185 was a pretty good score. The dew took the spinners out of the game, but credit to them (DC batters) as well. You like your spinners in the game, but you need to bowl in the right areas despite of the dew. A few bad balls and a few mistakes, we were short, but yeah, they really batted well. We didn't maximise towards the end. We felt like 185 was a par score, we needed one big over that could take us to 200, that would have made a difference. But that's what happens when you apply pressure. Maxi (Maxwell) has been going well for us at 4. We thought we could have him early (at no.3 ) because he is going well. I was really pleased to see Lomror at 5 and he played really well, still really a good positive for him. That's the nature of the slow pitch, you always try to come in the first six overs and try to get on top of the game.

22:56 Local Time, 17:26 GMT, 22:56 IST: The pressure of expectations was taken away from DC after their horrid start, and that has now set them free. Today we got a glimpse of why their batting line-up was considered to be so feared after the auctions, as most things clicked into gear. It started with Warner attacking Siraj and Hazlewood, as he started playing with a strike rate we are more used to seeing beside his name. Phil Salt also took the charge against the best powerplay bowler of this IPL in Siraj, as he hit him for two sixes and a four. Warner was tricked by a slower one from Hazlewood, but his replacement Mitch Marsh kept up the ante. Phil Salt also just didn't relent, as he smoked six sixes is his knock of 87. Both these batters couldn't finish the game off, but that allowed Rilee Rossouw to get a hit in with a brisk 35 off just 22 balls. A formidable win for DC who leapfrog SRH from the bottom.... For RCB, nothing they tried with the ball worked, and when your key bowlers are being taken to the cleaners, maybe it's just one of those days to forget. Also, their acceleration in the middle overs has been a concern, so does that mean a certain Mr. Kohli needs to score more quickly after the powerplay? Let's stick around to hear what both teams have to say about this game during the presentations...
