Cal Ripken Jr. marries Anne Arundel County judge

WASHINGTON (ABC7) — A new Maryland power couple is born. Baltimore Orioles Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr. married Anne Arundel County Circuit Court Judge Laura Kiessling last weekend, according to The Capital Gazette.
A spokesman for Ripken tells the newspaper that Ripken and Kiessling have been dating for more than a year.
The Circuit Court online directory now lists the judge as Hon. Laura S. Ripken.
Judge Ripken, the Gazette reports, will preside over the trial of Jarrod Ramos, the Laurel man charged in the June 28 shooting deaths of five Capital Gazette employees - Rob Hiaasen, Wendi Winters, John McNamara, Gerald Fischman and Rebecca Smith.
Ripken and his former wife, Kelly Ripken, divorced in April 2016 after being married for nearly 30 years.
