5 stars despite the CD case arriving cracked. The CD's were fine. A wide spectrum of music played with great artistry. I hear influences of Mark Knopfler and even Carlos Santana. Still very original, well played, thoughtful guitar work. The first time I listened I was not prepared to have my boundaries stretched as far as this music takes you. Since then this is near the top of my playlist.

Until a couple of years ago, I had never heard of Snowy White in the context of solo artist. When a friend in Escondido introduced me to this several years ago, I was blown away and surely sorry for all the years I'd spent unaware of his huge talent.
If you are new to the music of Snowy White, you may instantly be stricken by how his music is infused with the spirit of Peter Green. Many of White's songs are so evocative that you will think that you are hearing Green himself. Listen to Blues is the Road, No Faith Required, I Loved Another Woman (composed by Green), and Sweet Bluesmaker then you will hear what I mean. White recalls other artists too. In Love, Pain and Sorrow I hear echoes of Bob Welch. What I'm Searching For is something you might expect from Santana. Both Bob Welch and Chris Rea come to mind on Too Far Away.
Besides those songs, all of which I enjoy, I like most of the rest of the album especially Long Distance Loving, Silence In the Valley, The Journey, Old Number 7, Angel Inside, and Loving Man.
With Best of Snowy White, you get well over an hour and a half of great British blues. The CD set comes handsomely packaged and is accompanied by a fat booklet containing commentary by White about his career and notes about each song as well as the usual pertinent album information. If you are a blues/rock fan, you will enjoy this album as the gateway to the sounds of one of the finest blues musicians around.

Good solid blues. I believe Snowy White used to tour with Pink Floyd so you know his guitar work has to rank pretty high. My favorite song on this CD is Midnight Blues which really exposes White's talents.

Great sampler of music from an artist that isn't very well known.

"If you enjoy classic riffs and the Snowy White experience this is the compilation for you. One of my best purchases in 2012 so far."
You get 23 tunes on this double CD package and every song is a winner. Snowy has quite a history and has played with some of the greatest greats of all time,Pink Floyd, Thin Lizzy, Chris Rea to name a few. He has worked as a roadie where he met Peter Green(Fleetwood Mac) then played with him during Peter's big comeback(See Peter Green Splinter Group). Reaching the Cold 100
Tight musicianship, polished, bluesy and different to say the least, these are the musical highlights of an underrated musician in my opinion.
In this day and age one strives to find something different, you don't know what it is till you find it and guess what, sometimes it's a real kicker.
This compilation will definitely complete your collection.

I loved all the music. The best of Snowy White had 2 CD's and alot of varity of songs. Very happy with the music and the price of the CD was not too pricey. It came all the way from England and took only 9 days and got it Christmas Eve in my mail. Very happy Christmas Thank you Snowy White love your music

I'm a baby boomer, so 'new" music to me is often 20+ years old that I missed, but it was still surprising that I was unaware of someone this good. This is a great, diverse collection of guitar-driven songs, spanning a long career. Often subtle and nuanced, it took a few listens to really appreciate it. Favorites (though almost all are good): Old No. 7, Journey and his cover of Peter Green's Loved Another Woman.

Great playing, phrasing and tone. If you were a fan of Peter Green (original Fleetwood Mac), this won't disappoint you.

A stunning compilation from a relatively unknown and underrated guitarist. The tracks cover a range of styles that showcase his immense skill. The singing is a bit weak but for me at least it's all about the searing guitar solos. The only omission is the original version of Bird of Paradise, which Snowy reworked and added as a bonus track as he wasn't happy with the original - personally I think the original is a masterpiece! Buy without hesitation!
