crazy beat!

I mean 5 out of 5 beat. Would make the top 3 tracks on a Lil Wayne album (or more likely bootleg).

The bar is too high though, I mean the first track where Eminem collabs with Wayne AND West??? What a crazy single for a new rapper!

Overall, it's really good. But with this line up and beat, you just want it to be perfect.

Drake had a good song with the vocoder track on his first one. He kind of has a good flow and the beat is so sick. It is stripped down and fresh. Then it goes into sirens around a sample section that goes around and around. Kanye of course does a good verse here too. Kanye is pretty much the biggest jerk on earth but then on the mic he is the man. Drake is straight droppin people on the mic here. Then it has a vocoder hook in there. The next emcee up is Lil Wayne who is talking about the garden or some shit it is pretty cool though LOL. "Whats your Ice cream for, this is my dream car" LOL he drops a Hip Hop quotable Lil Wayne thats so funny. Eminem spits the fire on here. I am stunned that we get shit this good on a mainstream joint. A pure posse joint. I was recommended this by the fat girl in class who farted.

How The Times Have Changed
What a unique moment this was for hip hop. The epic but somewhat thin instrumental, punchlines on almost every line, three 2000's giants collaborating with the most consumed artist of the following decade, and of course the fact that it was tie in for a goddamn basketball movie, are all elements that make this song one that has stuck in my mind after all these years.

But apparently at the time of it's release it was despised by the community members of this site. I can understand why; I suppose that it was seen as cool to hate on the bloated ego raps of Weezy and Yeezy, and the lacking-in-machismo pop R&B crooning of up-and-comer Drizzy, only regretfully admitting the credit owed to Eminem's killer verse. But all these years later, the hard truth is that all of the verses are killer. Drake's is probably one of his best, Kanye's is full of incredibly so-bad-they're-good punchlines, and Lil Wayne was just in his bag doing the creative rhyming that he was known for at that point in his career.

It's by far one of the most iconic posse cuts of all time and undoubtedly deserves more credit. Play this at any function where you're trying to hype up a crowd, and they will get hyped up, I promise you that.

There was a commercial with this song in it where Drake actually turned into a robot powered by sprite. Five stars for the commercial. Song is trash though.

Needs more airhorns.

Oh wait, dropped the mixtape, that shit sounded like a(n) album.

It may mean nothin' to ya'll but this might be the best top 40 track to have that mixtape vibe. The cheezy as fuck punchlines. Benjamin Button. Ferris Bueller. Michelle Obama. It just keeps coming and thats a good thing.

The best cypher beat.

Eminem's shrill voice doesn't gel with the track like the others who offer subpar raps except for Drake who is really reaching and provides a decent hook.

almost everything about this song sucks ass. It's too long, Drake's verse is lame, Kanye's verse is lamer and Lil Wayne's verse is the lamest. The beats boring and the chorus is just stupid. The only, and I repeat ONLY redeeming element in the whole song is Eminem's verse. And fuck man does he bring it, one of my favorite verses by him ever and he just fucks everyone else up and makes the other contributions in the song look even lamer than they are by comparison. So if this song was just the two choruses and eminem's verse in the middle it'd get a much better rating, Drake give up, you're collaborators are the only reason anyone would listen to you.

While I was going through the So Far Gone Mixtape for htis track, several things have went through my brain while I listened to this track...

I hate Drake's first line! "Last name 'Ever', first name 'Greatest'. Like a Sprained Ankle, Boy, I ain't nuthin' to play wit....."

Yeah, I bet. With Drizzy Drake trying to uses metaphors with the words "ball" and "chemo"(which can come off as unintentionally offensive, plus you should mean the word bald.), oh, other rappers must tremble when they hear of you (which has been impossible, even if you've been hiding under a rock in Antarctica). Whatever. Drake goes in his usual talks about how he did things with a contract and worry about his haters, usual Drake stuff, ya know?

Up Next is Kanye, one of the rappers that you can obviously hear Drake has his influence from with his rapping style. Kanye has the worst sets of bars on this song hands down and he sounds so uninspiring, as if he didn't want to do this track and Young Money had him at gunpoint. I don't think I should comment anymore on this track.

Lil Wayne, the other rapper that Drake has an obvious influence from with his raps. Unlike most on RYM I can't hate Lil Wayne totally like most. It's a Sorta-Like/Hate relationship me and him have. I mean, I do hate how he raps sometimes. But at the same time I can't deny his talent. The way he's able to pull similes and metaphors out can even be classified as genius to some, not by me however. Why? Because he just does that. Cannot stay on subject to save his life (but with the way he stays on the codeine syrup, would it matter), and generally raps about nothing more than what you would hear from your general rappers of mainstream rap today. He, like Kanye, also sounds uninspired, but Wayne is a better rapper than Kanye, so it doesn't sound as bad as it could. I still really don't like his verse, though.

And last, and arguably the greatest rapper ever imo, Eminem. To be honest, I've listened to probably more of each of the previous three artists, especially over the past 3 to 5 years. But most will recognize Em's rapping ability as soon as it comes up, even some of the non-hip-hop heads. You can't deny it, even if the subject matter is rough to your ears. As expected, Em handed Wayne's, Drake's, and Kanye's asses to them, with a rapid, quick, take-no-bullshit-from-nobody set of bars. He fails to disappoint, without question. Em has that genius quality in him with his rapping to me that few can match.

So, what's the final result. Em kinda saved this song from being a total disaster. The beat was pretty nice, Drake's hooks can get annoying afterwhile, but at the end of the day, its a decent effort. Nothing special, as a whole anyways.
