Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – Specter At The Feast

I was hesitant about buying this edition after reading the reviews and also having the marbled edition of Vagrant's Wrong Creatures LP in my collection which while it sounds good I don't think it comes close to the sound of the BRMC album editions of Abstract Dragon or Virgin from the first albums, which are supreme.
Even so, I was pleasantly surprised that this album sounds much better than I expected with good volume and dynamics.
Great sounding album I recommend it, very happy with it!

Ive now tried two copies of this. First thing to mention is they are varied in colour and effect so many small variations on the probably exist. My first one featured two badly warped discs which didnt affect the playback itself but they were hella noisy even after a double Degritting each. As the underlying sound is good i went for a return/exchange and prayed. The second copy arrived.... great, the warps are almost non existent and they are well centered if a little tight om the spindle, but... STILL hella noisy after the Degrittings. Clearly the quality of the vinyl is low. Its not the colour or the marbling because ive got many and those i keep are all fine. So low quality noisy vinyl pressed badly (non fills present to every disc) results in a hot mess of constant background noise with pops and rips to ruin the fun. Its very disappointing, but thankfully the CD sounds just as good so i can enjoy the music rather then constantly wince at the distorted sounds of this thing!

Very happy with this. BRMC appears to really care how their vinyl is presented and pressed. Flat, quiet....perfect.

I thought the initial listing from Vagrant’s site was showing a translucent/smoky black gray color, but ended up being these recycled marbled colors… not mad, just a lil’ shocked and feeling mislead.
But whatever, colors are cool and the music is what matters!

Poor production quality. I ordered two LPs and both of my copies, Sides C and D, are badly warped. In my case, the sound is affected to. Hopefully at the 10 year anniversary they will release a better quality vinyl. The music is worth it.

After so many cancelled transactions (product out of stock) I finally got my copy.
I saw somewhere on the internet a comment that the vinyl (material) is bad quality. And unfortunately I have to agree.
The edge of discs are very sharp so you can almost cut your hands. And both discs are warped, especially the first one.
And as we all know it's not the matter of bad shipping or bad storage but it is a factory issue.
It seems like the warped shape impacts on the dynamic of the record in some moments, and you can hear some sizzling around the A3 song. Except all that the qulity of sound is great! I love the sound of cymbals, especially "rides" :) And all those noisy sounds running from one place ot another, there's enough space for everything.
I will give these discs to fix (straighten up the warped shape). I hope it will help.

This version was either repressed or they found a cache of heretofore unsold copies. I bought a copy straight from the band's website store a while ago, and it was not described as being red vinyl. I imagine many other people were pleasantly surprised as well.

Great album from B.R.M.C. I think it's very underrated & it deserves more attention.
