We kindly request that you follow these easy to follow safety guidelines to make everyone's visit more enjoyable:
- Please treat all of our animals and plants with respect. Do not yell, run after, pull feathers or throw anything at the animals. Loud behaviour can be stressful to animals, so please be courteous towards them and their surroundings.
- Respect all barriers for the safety of both the animals and guests at the Zoo.
- We are a smoke-free & vape free environment. Guests who wish to smoke are welcome to have their hand stamped for same day re-entry when leaving our grounds to smoke in the parking area.
We do not allow any feeding of our animals. The diets of all our animals are closely monitored to ensure their optimal health and well being. Picking flowers or other greenery to feed to our animals can be dangerous as some local plants can be toxic.
The best way for the keepers to know if an animal is sick is whether or not it is eating. If visitors feed them, we cannot properly monitor their health, which may also lead to obesity or disease. The animals must not be touched for safety reasons (bites, scratches and disease transfers) and to reduce stress on the animals.
For environmental reasons and to avoid accidental animal ingestion, we do not allow balloons and plastic or aluminum confetti on zoo premises. We also discourage the use of straws whenever possible.
Zoo animals cannot be touched without permission from a zookeeper. This is to ensure everyone's safety and to reduce stress on the animals.
Pets
For the safety of our animals and yours, no outside animals are permitted on Zoo grounds (please see FAQs for information about Service Dogs).
