To get oneself on an established pedestal in any industry needs a lot of hustle. Especially, when it comes to showbiz, setting a foot requires perseverance and dedication, apart from being talented and reaching the right place at the right time.

Actress Achint Kaur, who has been in the industry for over two decades now, is one of the actresses to make it big by fighting the mental conditioning of her time. Starting her career with the TV show Banegi Apni Baat in 1994, and then continuing to ace her roles in various popular soaps such as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii among others, Achint has come a long way.

During an exclusive chat with Times Now Digital, the actress shared how being mentally strong was her only struggle. “I will not call them to struggle, it's just life. We all go through finishing our education and finding fields and struggle to find work. In our field, our only struggle is that we are freelancers. My generation, at least, was conditioned in a way where we were told to get a job and secure ourselves with a fixed salary. My struggles were more internal than external because I had to change my conditioning. I always say it's all being victims of social conditioning. It was all in the head and that is what I had to change," she shared.

Apart from soaps, Achint has also starred in various movies such as Haunted 3D (2011), Heroine (2012), 2 States (2014), and Kalank (2019).

Achint says acting as a profession gives her satisfaction, despite it not being a full-time "job". “It is fine to be a freelancer and not have work 24X7. But when you do, it is something else. That is life. Nobody gets handed over everything. I call them learnings. I have been a teacher for 3 years, where I worked for a salary of Rs 3,000 per month. Nobody just wakes up and gets handed over everything. You have to make it up. That's why I call them learnings,” she further added.

The 50-year-old actress is now all set to make her digital debut with the show Jamai 2.0 Season 2, starring Ravi Dubey and Nia Sharma. The show is the second season of the TV soap Jamai Raja and will see Achint reprising the role of Durga Devi. The show will stream from February 26, 2021.
