This is the tenth Bluford book, which is about Darcy Wills 's summer when she and her sister Jamee notices that their parents are keeping a secret. Darcy is also keeping a secret about Brian Mason, and what he had done to her. She doesn't have anyone to talk to with her grandmother dead and her boyfriend Hakeem Randall in Detriot. She sees that her old friend Brisana Meeks is keeping her own secret. Later Darcy and Jamee find out that their mom is pregnant. Darcy learns that Brisana is also pregnant and go to the clinic and find out that it was a false alarm. Eventually Darcy tells her family, Brisana and Tarah Carson, her best friend, about what Brian did to her. She also finds out that Hakeem is returning from Detroit later at the end of the summer.
