We have been using Miro for almost the past couple of months, and there are a couple of things which we like and appreciate as a team:
1. Entire team and easily coordinate and sprint ceremonies like - a retrospective, and requirement gathering.
2. Everyone can contribute together at the same time, without any hassle
3. It has a lot of inbuilt by default templates available, which we can easily use to take the aspiration and accordingly update as per our use.
4. People can use different colours, and shapes and link to associated activities for better communication and transparency between the stakeholders and team members.
5. We have used it at the enterprise level to run the 'Scrum of Scrum' meetings, where most of the Scrum masters were coming to discuss things beforehand.
6. It is easily coupled with the JIRA tickets and also with the confluence. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes, it becomes difficult to use the Miro to write anything as the UI doesn't allow you to perform so many actions altogether. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Miro is a powerful visualisation tool to use when trying to engage with your stakeholders via online meetings. It was easy to use, and with some planning in advance stakeholders are amazed how engaging and visual an online discussion could be.
I also love about it removed the hassle from running face-to-face workshop, I no longer need to transcribe post-its! Everything can be donwloaded into spreadsheet format for analysis and/or presentation. I have been using Miro since Covid and now is often seen as a guru of Miro within my team :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Senior stakeholders love it when someone is driving it for them, they still have some reluncatance towards using it (but it's more about anti-technology rather than the application). I always need to factor this in when running a session with senior stakeholders and potentially ask for additional resource to support the session. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Miro has proven to be an indispensable for digital collaboration. You have only si kuch wall space for paper notes and Miro goes with tou anywhere.
It's incredibly versatile whether you're doing Agile planning, SWOT analysis, process mapping, content planning, or a simple presentation.
The platform’s versatility shines as it adeptly captures and organizes spontaneous ideas, facilitating the analysis and identification of dependencies within.
The introduction of private mode has been a game-changer, fostering a culture of bold creativity by providing a safe space for team members to share ideas without reservation. It's been helpful in enhancing the ideation process, allowing for more authentic and courageous contributions.
Miro offers heapa of integrations too. Fo example with Jira. It streamlines workflows by seamlessly connecting ideas on Miro’s canvas with Jira’s tracking capabilities, ensuring that information transfer is efficient and effort-free. This synergy between Miro and Jira not only saves time but also maintains the integrity of data across platforms.
Miro is simply an incredibly robust tool that significantly reduces administrative overhead and empowers teams to focus on what truly matters—innovation and execution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not much. I've miss better integrations with Trello and Asana. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We use Miro for all events in our SW development: review, planning, retrospective, and refinements. We even migrated product backlog into there from Jira as having it visual makes it so much easier to collaborate.
I cannot imagine our
Because Miro is super visual it allows you to share and explain complicated topics with an audience that is new to the domain. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
People without full license have limited options to collaborate (only comments). I wish we could buy them a temporary "two hour license" to enable them for that particular event. For example, our sprint review every two weeks where we invite external customers - does not make sense for them to buy a full license but if we could give them one, that would be great. It's a great collaboration tool, the diagramming features are incredibly easy to use, particularly on meetings when you need to visualise a process, ideas, or even room layouts.
It has an excellent range of templates to choose from which is particularly helpful when you trying a task for the first time as it gives an excellent framework to order your thinking and guide you through the process.
I've used it for process mapping, idea/concept mapping, product roadmapping, sprint reviews and retrospectives and backlog management.
Whenever I'm not sure on how to get started on a task I search the templates and there is always something applicable to what I need to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometime generating a sharing link that gives other users the necessary editing access to you board can be tricky, i.e. you think you've configured it as a sharing link that lets others edit but they can't get the needed access. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best thing is about Miro is that there's almost nothing you can't do on it. There are endless ways to show what you want to show on the boards with the various tools and integrations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think the downside of Miro is the size that boards can get to. We have board that have so much in it that it loads slow or even too big for use on iPad (I get message when its too big) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'm a big fan of Miro. What I love most about Miro is its versatility; it's not just for brainstorming, but also for designing software, organizing databases, even creating Instagram posts... the possibilities are endless. It's a true Swiss Army knife for creativity!
Since my first encounter with Miro, I found it super easy to use and intuitive. I use it several times a week for brainstorming new ideas or checking steps in program architecture. While I haven't integrated it extensively yet, I have the app on my phone. Implementing Miro was straightforward, and people accepted it well because we can all work asynchronously or simultaneously, which greatly facilitates collaboration. Nothing else comes to mind right now, I'm truly a fan! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Miro helps me to map my thoughts and helps me in achievcing my goal as in the direction of the design neatly. It is Very easy to use and have all the shortcuts that most other softwares have. I had faced an issue of wiping of my laptop because of an internal issue but thankfully i did my mapping and stored all my research in miro, and since its a cloud based platform i was able to retrieve all my research and make the presentation again quickly. So far nothing because i have tried using figjam but this was far more user friendly.
Regarding pie charts and flow charts i guess there should be a little more templates available and an option to edit the images could be provided Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Miro is an exceptional tool for creative expression and visualization of team members' ideas and thoughts. The canvas is unlimited and can be organized in many different ways, which helps in collaboration and brainstorming. The tool's flexibility in supporting agile ceremonies is great. It has enabled us in the team to maintain an iterative and responsive workflow. Also, we can handle very professional presentations there, making it great for engaging with stakeholders effectively.
The real-time collaboration feature is also another amazing thing, it has helped my team quite a lot to work asynchronously. It also has amazing templates that help to get started, like user story mapping and SWOT analysis.
One last thing that I find quite nice is the integration with Jira, where we can also add tickets and reference them there in a nice visual way.
We regularly depend on the tool for our work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the features are pretty hidden. I spend some time to get where they are, and some I don't even know about until a friend or colleague points me out, and I would say wow, I never thought this existed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Infinite Canvas: The limitless canvas provides ample space for creativity and idea generation.
Template Library: A vast collection of pre-built templates streamlines the process of getting started with various activities.
Collaboration Features: Real-time collaboration tools, such as comments, sticky notes, and voting, enhance teamwork and communication.
Integrations: Miro seamlessly integrates with popular tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Google Drive, making it easy to incorporate into existing workflows.
Mobile App: The mobile app allows users to access and collaborate on boards on the go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Miro suffers from several usability issues, such as:
Automatic tab redirection when opening boards in new tabs.
Disappearing floating toolbars.
Difficulty maintaining consistent element sizing.
Infinite Canvas Overwhelm: The vastness of the infinite canvas can be overwhelming for some users, and navigating large boards can be cumbersome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is simple and intuitive. Most of the times, the options and functionalities that appear close to where I am working, are the ones that I was actually going to need. Miro is also very fast and responsive as if I was working locally. It is also great form teamwork. This is actually my favourite feature: team mebers can follow you very easily, which makes it a great tool also for presentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would like to have more icons and shapes available in the free version, but I understand that nice icons and shapes cost money, so it is ok that we have to pay for them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Miro is extremely easy to use and has a minimal learning curve. You can use it for brainstorming individually or collaboratively. This includes mapping user journeys, plotting project timelines, presenting your thoughts and ideas in a structured way, creating mood boards and wireframing. To help you do that well, Miro has a library of apps (tools) within so you don't feel overwhelmed with the freedom it provides. My favourite apps are the available templates, stickers and emojis app and the wireframing library app. You'll also find a huge library of integrations like Google Images, Icons8 and spell checkers.
I have been using Miro for 10 years now. It has been a key contributor to all my projects including website design, program/course design, business development and collating my learnings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
With so much freedom, it's important to design the right constraints. But some micro features of Miro still need a bit of rework. For example, I don't use this tool much but whenever I do, I wish it were easier to draw a line. Currently, it snaps to the shapes and elements nearest to the point I want to draw the line, which means I have to try several times to get it right. Or else I have to draw it far away from the other elements and then drag it to the desired spot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Miro ensures that any changes made on the board are instantly synchronized across all users' devices. This means everyone stays on the same page, and there's no need to refresh or reload to see the latest updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although Miro is user-friendly for basic tasks, some of its more advanced features and integrations have a steeper learning curve. New users might need additional time and resources to fully leverage these capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I had an amazing experience with Miro. Initial setup is unchallenging and integrates with many of my other task and project management tools such a as Jira and Google Workspace. This sync enables me to have a complete overview on my tasks, pending workbits, deadlines and project speed. It's friendly User interface delivers ample usage and navigation of all it features. I really like Miro for making my project taskflows because it delivers multiple templates for use in different scenarios. The Project tracking, weekly status reporting , schedule, timeline, financial presentation and executive summary templates are my best they help me get started quickly and make my duties and role less overwhelming. Miro has profoundly transformed the we collaborate and work with othersIt is soo easy to onboard even external stakeholders .The infinite canvas that is visible and accessible to everyone helps us bring our different expertise and knowledge on board. Integration with Google Drive has aided in communication because we are able to add weblinks and files and all this information is accessible to everyone.Miro provides us with a variety of widgets and toolsets for diagramming and mindmapping such as Kanban and flowcharts this helps greatly with project plan layout visualization. We are able to track the dependencies of each aspect, subtasks, resources from start to the wrap up of projects. Visual representation of ideas simplifies concepts and makes information accessible to every team member keeping us on the same page. Miro integration with AI enhances it's efficiency. When reporting to my seniors I have constantly been using spotlighting features in presentation mode ensuring that I miss no detail whatsoever Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Customization capabilities should be enhanced because I constantly have to change the default colour gradient to make my presentation appealing. Also the canvases appears to be soo big when Iam using my phone soo I literally have to zoom and zoomout to access every part of the board. Presentation feature is not upto standard soo we oftenly have to transfer to PowerPoint for major presentation . An all round platform would be better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's easy to set up tempates for students to use. It's easy for students who have never used it to pick up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometime it gets slow when I teach to 70 students and all the students are on a board at the same time; Also some of my teaching templates have a lot of elements – students have complained that the boards get very slow.
--
But my biggest complaint is the access controls. I can't tell who has access sometime and it's hard to find where I can invite members to an individual board only. This is essential since I teach multiple classes and I don't want one set of students having access to boards meant for another class. Imagine if you have 6 classes each year with 70 students in each class. It becomes a nightmare!
--
I have a lot of boards, and sometime I need to find which board a student belongs to either by the board name or a stick note inside a board with their name; There is no robust search funcationality in Miro. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The breadth of capabilities that Miro gives you to collaboration with online teams is great! We would be lost without it for things like whiteboarding, retros, team building, planning etc Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The licensing is confusing and there are multiple ways to share boards depending on the set up so regularly we end up with people with different levels of access with little way of working out why they can view but not comment or edit. This makes it very difficult to feel confident in using it with a new team or new boards as you worry about getting into a meeting and having to spend 10 minutes trying to get everyone access sorted. -I'am a UX designer and also a Teaching Assistant at North Carolina State university for UX Design Undergraduate Students. For my personal projects I really like to use Miro for making user taskflows, mind maps and also for user research. It has been a amazing tool for makeing visual representation of my research which helps me display that to my stakeholders and explain my thinking process and also take quick note from the feedback meeting.
- Feature I like: Spot lighting Features, present mode
- I wish:
*As we use a lot of miro boads for each project for stuents to upload their work so that everyone can see each other's work and leave coments and once students move forward with other projects students don't really have acces to the boad. I wish there was a option to export with the coments too.
*As a administator it is importand to see all the coments made by everyone for a students at one place. A lot of times students do not mention in the coments when they are commenting for someone they just but it on their board. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- Sometimes the interface is really slow somtimes.
- I don't really like the default coulours. It could have been little brighter Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
