I only came across Lily Allen as a singer a few years ago (love her music), and I live in Asia, so I missed all the fame and tabloid gossip she went through in the mid-late 2000s in the UK. I had no idea what ups and downs she went through at such a relatively young age. Her book is raw and brutally honest. Definitely worth a read. (I read 80% in one day.)

She comes clean and is pretty honest, even with some things I am quick to judge on. I’m happy to see that she currently has been sober, is remarried and doing great in the acting world. I am surprised at how candid and honest this book is.
Celebrities (and people in general) tend to try and portray themselves in the best possible light, or at the very least, you read autobiographies and sit there knowing that crucial parts have been glossed over or left out. This book is different, Lily goes as far as to include things that could let her be seen in an unfavourable light. In doing so, you know that what you're reading is her story, her truth. It's refreshing and dare I say, inspirational, to read a book about someone who has gone through so much in their life, made bad decisions at times, but has come out of it a better, more enlightened person.
There's something for everybody to connect with, and feel moments where you think, "Ah! This woman gets it!". If everyone had Lily's ability to self-reflect and constantly try to learn, and improve themselves, the world would be a better place.
Lily, you are smashing it. I wish you so much joy and peace in your future endeavours, thank you for your openness and honesty.
