UC Berkeley is a prestigious institution that has a lot to offer in academics and extracurriculars. To me, the people are what make the experience so great, and fortunately, with such a large class, there is a myriad of people and groups to be affiliated with which illustrates the diversity at Berkeley. Some things can be frustrating sometimes such as applying for classes, finding resources, and having intrapersonal interactions with professors and classmates due to Berkeley being such a large institution. Additionally, there are other inconveniences such as the lack of housing for students which in my opinion, needs to start being a priority for the administration. Overall, UC Berkeley has a lot to offer and it is truly what you make of it. As someone who is heavily involved in varsity athletics, extracurriculars, leadership positions, and paraprofessional organizations, I am proud to call UC Berkeley home for me and I carry that with pride and class. Go Bears!
UC Berkeley is a campus that provides its students with an inexplicable amount of opportunities. These opportunities extend beyond the academic sense but range across the work force, student life, resources, and more. I am very grateful to be able to attend such a university!
Attending UC Berkeley has been an amazing experience. The university provides a wide range of resources for students, from state-of-the-art research facilities to extensive libraries and diverse student organizations catering to almost every interest. The professors are not only knowledgeable but also genuinely invested in their student's success, offering valuable mentorship and opportunities for academic and professional growth.
However, some areas could be improved. While the campus is diverse, more initiatives are needed to foster a more inclusive environment, particularly in terms of support and representation for underrepresented groups. Additionally, the bureaucracy can sometimes be overwhelming, making it difficult for students to navigate administrative processes efficiently. More streamlined systems and increased support for student mental health and well-being would significantly enhance the overall experience.
