John Archibald St. Louis Post-Dispatch If those in charge of Taxi give Hirsch reasonably good material, use Kaufman wisely, and ask the others to slice the ham thin, the show could add to ABC's already strong position in the ratings race. Aug 6, 2021 Full Review Lee Winfrey Philadelphia Inquirer Taxi is a joy ride. Among the new television series premiering this month, it should accelerate quickly to a spot near the front. If you like to laugh, catch it. Aug 6, 2021 Full Review Noel Holston Orlando Sentinel It's Hirsch, however, that really makes Taxi go, for he's equally effective cracking wise, playing the straight man, or bringing poignance to serious scenes. Taxi is, in the parlance of TV, his vehicle. Aug 6, 2021 Full Review Robert Bowden Tampa Bay Times The four men who created Taxi provide further proof that the only thing needed to improve the quality of television is better writing. The remaining talent is readily available. Aug 6, 2021 Full Review Bill Mandel San Francisco Examiner Taxi is a first-rate Barney Miller-type character comedy with an excellent cast. Aug 6, 2021 Full Review Win Fanning Pittsburgh Post-Gazette It's a remarkably talented group. The writing, by the creator-producers James L. Brooks, Stan Daniels, David Davis and Ed Weinberger, is on the same high level achieved by the four when they were working in the Mary Tyler Moore stable. Aug 6, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews
