Hey Monday is an American pop-rock band formed in 2008 and consisting of members Cassadee Pope, Mike Gentile, Alex Lipshaw, and Patrick McKenzie. Named after a university dismissal phrase, the band gained popularity with their debut album “Hold On Tight” in 2008 which spawned the hit song “Homecoming”. Over the years, they toured with notable artists such as Fall Out Boy and All Time Low before taking a hiatus in 2011. During the hiatus, frontwoman Cassadee Pope pursued a solo career and eventually won season three of the reality show “The Voice”. In 2015, Hey Monday announced their official breakup despite releasing new music in 2011 under their independent label. They left a lasting impression on the pop-punk scene and continue to be remembered for their infectious sound and relatable lyrics.
