Jeanne Caracciolo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Earle Funeral Home - Blackwood on Sep. 6, 2022.

Jeanne Caracciolo (nee Basara), a long-time resident of the Hilltop section of Gloucester Twp., formerly of Blenheim, passed away suddenly on September 4, 2022 at the age of 77 years. Daughter of the late Chester and Elizabeth (nee Koczynasz) Basara. She was the devoted wife for 59 years of Joseph Caracciolo, and the loving mother of Joseph K. Caracciolo of Hilltop, Philip Caracciolo (Daughter-in-law Angela) of Haddon Hts., NJ, and the late Daniel Caracciolo (Daughter-in-law Kim). Dear sister of Eileen Basara, Robert Basara (Nancy), Brian Basara (Bonnie), Chester Basara (Kathy), and the late Jackie Cassidy (Bill). Beloved grandmother of Christina, Marissa, Anna, Danielle, Philip, Daniel, and Christopher; and proud great-grandmother of Tristan, Genevieve, Dean, Hazel, and Raylan. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Jeanne was a devout Catholic, a Graduate of St. Agnes School, and a faithfully attending Parishioner of St. Agnes Church (Including its' original location in Deptford). Her devotion to the Divine Mercy, and to praying the Rosary were integral parts of who Jeanne was.
Jeanne enjoyed spending time with her family, caring for her home, summer vacations in Sea Isle City with her grandchildren, and spoiling everyone with her famous Polish meatballs, and spoiling her grandchildren with her pancakes. Having raised three boys, she was a fixture at the Gloucester Twp. Midget Football field, and at the Blackwood Kiwanis Little League Baseball field. She almost never missed one of her son's games, and even attended most of the practice sessions. She was a long-time employee and retiree of the Gloucester Township MUA where she enjoyed many friendships.
Closed casket visitation (as per her wishes) for family and friends, will be Monday, September 12, 2022, 10:30 AM – 11:45 AM at Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Agnes Church, 701 Little Gloucester Rd., Blackwood, NJ 08012, where her Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 PM. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chews Landing will follow privately for family members only please.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory would be appreciated to 1st Way Life Center, 528 Richey Ave., Collingswood, NJ 08107

I was shocked and saddened to learn that Jeanne passed away. I regret that I just learned about it today, Sept 14th. I certainly would have attended her funeral Mass. I knew Jeanne when her son Joseph was in my daughter's grade when they attended Saint Agnes School. I always enjoyed talking to Jeanne. Yes, she had the courage of her convictions and she was opinionated. I always enjoyed talking to her. We go back about 54 years. She was attractive and very intelligent. I know how much she cared about her family. My condolences go to her husband and her sister, and the rest of the siblings. I have seen them at St. Agnes Church for many years. I know the family will miss her. I am sorry for your loss.
