Tourist trap. Over-rated and over-priced. Not coming back. Parking is terrible. Have to pay where ever you park or walk a long way.
I recently moved to Lake Geneva with my mother about three years ago. I love the sense of community this town provides along with the uplifting, fun, and safe environment this small town provides. I have met so many amazing, kindhearted, and selfless people while living here. The summers are fun being so close to the lake and other resorts, but winter life is just as fun with Ice Castles and Winterfest! Its a great town to live and raise a family. Best decision ever!
Ice Sculptors, Ice Fishing, Beaches, and scenery, Lake Geneva has it all. This place has marvelous views with the sun reflecting off the waters. The water droplets sparkle like glitter in the cool chill rains, but sunshine comes to brighten your days. Cars and trucks roam the streets while people find a place to eat. The greatest stores in town, but unfortunately their prices can be beat. At the end of the day the people and traffic fade away as you are left with the day your way. No matter what you want to try, whether its freezing ice cream or golden rye, it will be sure to brighten up your drive.
As a current resident of Lake Geneva, all I can say is that this is a small community that is beautiful and calm. Downtown Lake Geneva has a variety of local shops such as restaurants, clothing shops, and bars. The lake is very popular in the spring and summer time as many people come and walk around and do fun activities. The atmosphere is calm and feels peaceful. The people are friendly. The only downside is that it is difficult to find a good job so you might have to travel to another town/city to work at. Don't forget to check out the ice castles at Lake Geneva which occurs on January-February of every year.
Lake Geneva is a nice small Wisconsin town and the summers and winters are beautiful times to be there. The huge lake opens up the summers to swimming and boating activities. The winter is even better as it has the perfect conditions for skiing and snowboarding at the many resorts near the town
Great town especially in the summer. Winter activities have stated to increase but more work is needed for it to be a year round destination
Great Lake! Lots of shops, restaurants and bars. A lot of stuff to do if you’re not a local. Traffic sucks downtown. A lot of traffic from illinois people.
Lake Geneva is a small, tourist town. It can get congested and busy during the summer and community events, however, I like the energy this brings to the town.
Lake Geneva is a very nice place to live or visit. We have a beautiful downtown right on the lake with many amazing restaurants and little shops. It's a small town in the winter; however, in the summer, we have many tourists. In the summer, Lake Geneva turns into an exciting place to be. There's music in the park once a week, a carnival at the end of summer with fireworks, and many more exciting activities. The schools are very nice with state-of-the-art technology and many different classes. There is also a lake path that goes around the entire lake. The total distance is about 26 miles. It's right on the lake and people can see all of the beautiful lake homes and mansions. Overall, I wouldn't change anything about Lake Geneva. It's a very beautiful town with very kind people.
Its a beautiful town with a gorgeous lake, however it gets very crowded due to tourists so its not as enjoyable to drive through and admire its beauty.
Wonderful small town charm with a lot of amazing outdoor activities, friendly people, and everything so close.
Beautiful tourist town in southern Wisconsin. Very busy with a lot to do in the summer time. Much less populated during the winter. Many visitors from Chicago area and crime is starting to become a little more prevalent, but Lake Geneva is an overall great place to live and grow up.
I've lived here since I can remember and I've moved away just to come back more times than I can count. No matter where I've gone, there's a cheesy part of my heart that misses the over the top tourism and the calming view of the lake. This town holds the memories of all my firsts, many of my lasts, and infinite beginnings. It's a small resort of happiness. There's the strip of small local businesses run by families that have lived in the lake town through generations. They can tell you stories for hours about the alleyways and the old brick buildings. Each store holds a small portion of the town's life. They each have a portion of personality that can't be found anywhere else.
I would like to see more diversity in the years to follow. Its a good and safe place for kids to get an education and be raised therefore I am very happy to call this town home.
I enjoy the scenery in Lake Geneva, and the easy access to artisan shops and activities on the lake. However, Lake Geneva has little in the way of quality produce - Neither Walmart or Piggly Wiggly offer healthy produce, and we often have to travel to get fresh food that will last. Traffic downtown is understandable, considering there are few ways to get around the edge of a lake, and overall there are multiple ways to traverse the town to avoid traffic. Easy access to major highways, central to several other towns and cities - a prime place to live for those who enjoy fresh lake air and friendly citizens.
It's a charming little town. Besides having a Wal-mart and the usual big name stores, there are also a bunch of little local stores and restaurants. If you want something unique, go see the mail boat.
A lovely place for year round residents. The lake is one of the finest anywhere and our town has that wonderful small town charm.
Summer are always very, very busy with thousands of visitors daily, so try to schedule your visit during one of the quiet seasons if you truly want to explore our beautiful area.
