TESDA Secretary Isidro Lapeña led the groundbreaking ceremnony of the Provincial Training Centers (PTCs) in Kidapawan City, Cotabato and Roxas, Palawan last Sept. 30 and Oct. 8, respectively.

Lapeña signed a Deed of Usufruct with Cotabato Governor Nancy Catamco that allots 5,000 square meters of land for the said PTC located at Capitol Compound in Barangay Amas, the second PTC in the Cotabato province.

He also led the groundbreaking ceremony of TESDA PTC in the Municipality of Pigcawayan last December 2020.

The Secretary expressed his gratitude to the provincial government and assured that enough budget will be allocated to the PTC which is being established under a training-cum-production scheme.

“This agreement also affirms the strong commitment of the Provincial Government of Cotabato and TESDA to expand quality TVET programs and projects in the province,” Lapeña said.

Catamco likewise thanked TESDA for its continued support to provide interventions amid the COVD-119 pandemic to Indigenous People (IPs) and former rebels.

Lapeña said that the training center will bring the agency’s development programs to more Filipinos, particularly, the former rebels and those belonging to the indigenous communities and the marginalized sector.

“Rest assured that TESDA and PRLEC will continuously serve our kababayans (countrymen) through livelihood and training programs to help them improve their lives,” he added.

TESDA chairs the Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC), of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) that aims to develop self-reliant, productive, resilient and sustainable communities through harmonized and culturally responsive development programs.
