Biography
Susan Catharine Koerner was born on 30 Apr 1831 in Hillsborough, Loudoun, Virginia, United States, daughter of John Gottleib Koerner (1791 - 1876) and Catherine (Frey) Koerner (1796 - 1889).
In the 1850 census Susan (age 19) was in Harmony, Union, Indiana, United States.[1]
Susan married Milton Wright, son of Daniel Wright and Catherine Reeder, on 24 Nov 1859 in Union County, Indiana. Their children were:
- Reuchlin Wright (1861 - 1920)
- Lorin Wright (1862 - 1939)
- Wilbur Wright (1867 - 1912)
- Ida Wright (1870 - 1870)
- Otis Wright (1870 - >1870)
- Orville Wright (1871 - 1948)
- Katharine (Wright) Haskell (1874 - 1929).
In the 1860 census Susan (age 29) was in Andersonville, Franklin, Indiana.[2]
In the 1870 census Susan (age 39), Keeping House, was in Dayton Ward 10, Montgomery, Ohio.[3]
In the 1880 census Susan (age 49) was the wife of Milton Wright in Cedar Rapids, Linn, Iowa, United States.[4]
Susan died of tuberculosis on 4 Jul 1889 aged ~58. She is buried in the Wright family plot in Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum in Dayton, Ohio.
