Risse, Peggy Lou

In Loving Memory

Risse, Peggy Lou (nee Miller)

April 1, 1944 - March 20, 2024

Peggy Lou Risse (nee Miller) April 1, 1944 – March 20, 2024 (79 years of age)

Dear wife of the late Donald J Risse; daughter of the late Kenneth and late Deleen Miller. Mother to Chris Jernigan; with stepchildren, Donna (Dave) Isbell, David (Kelly) Risse, the late Dana Risse, Marc (Kelli) Risse; 9 step grandkids; sibling to Danny Miller, the late Marilyn Brunts, Cheryl Heddell and the late Connie Reynolds. Over the years, she was also fortunate to have had dear grandparents, aunts & uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews, in-laws, friends and co-workers. Peggy worked at Kroger for 25 years and another 12 years at First Community Credit Union before retiring at age 55, where she was able to enjoy nearly 25 years of work-free living. Born in Burnips, Michigan with roots in Indiana & Illinois, Peggy’s family relocated to St. Louis when her dad got a job as an electrician. A graduate of Cleveland High School, Peggy lived in the city all her life since coming to St. Louis as a child, and never wanted to live elsewhere; having lived nearly 50 years in her last earthly home. She enjoyed coffee & conversation, the neighborhood, Ted Drewes, shopping, cooking, and entertaining guests. Some of her interests included the Cardinals, Blues and Rams, bowling and tennis in her younger years, playing cards and board games, light yardwork, the occasional trip to Florida and Las Vegas, collecting crystal figurines & cardinal bird nick-nacks, country music, watching crime shows, soap operas and game shows; especially Wheel of Fortune where her son and she would guess Vanna White’s dress color every day. 😊

Visitation Sunday, March 24, 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois Rd.  Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at a later date.
