      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Argylle gets some mileage out of its silly, energetic spin on the spy thriller, but ultimately wears out its welcome with a convoluted plot and overlong runtime.

      Audience Says

Argylle is an entertaining spy comedy with over-the-top action and plenty of surprises, although the fun starts to run out toward the end of its overlong runtime.

Kristen Lopez TheWrap “Argylle” is fun in spurts with a strong cast of characters that help you get through the overly exaggerated runtime. But the script boxes itself into a corner too often and falls into repetition. Feb 27, 2024 Full Review Sergio Burstein Los Angeles Times Appreciating all these stars during a single visit to the movie theater is undoubtedly satisfying; but it was reasonable to expect much more from a $200 million mega-production that… is excessively conditioned by the use of CGI. [Full review in Spanish] Feb 20, 2024 Full Review Lauren Coates Chicago Reader Argylle ultimately buckles under the weight of its own ambition, and the end result is a messy, overlong (if entertaining) romp. Rated: 2.5/5 Feb 15, 2024 Full Review Jordan Ruimy World of Reel It’s LONG, loud, incoherent and boring [...] pure torture. Rated: D May 25, 2024 Full Review Martin Carr martincarr.co.uk This overly elaborate spy romp from Matthew Vaughn may have a star-studded cast of character actors, but barely does anything original in its extended running time. Not even Henry Cavill can save Argylle from mediocrity. Apr 20, 2024 Full Review Lissete Lanuza Sáenz Fangirlish Argylle isn’t exactly groundbreaking, and though it is certainly fun, it runs long enough that it ends up dragging near the end. But it delivers enough laughs and twists (not to mention a memorable female lead) to be worth a watch. Apr 15, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews
