Minute Maid Park has been very good to the Houston Astros. The team has been playing ball since the early 1960s but didn't win a pennant, let alone a World Series title, until moving into the stadium in 2000 and becoming one of MLB's most consistent franchises in the decades to follow. This replacement for the innovative Astrodome features a retractable roof, a natural grass playing surface and even its own train.
Other must-see features of Minute Maid Park are the Home Run Pump in center field, which keeps a running tally of every home run hit in the park since it was built, and Hall of Fame Alley, a collection of memorabilia and other items that pay tribute to members of the Astros Hall of Fame. It's also home to a mural that changes every year to celebrate the team's history.
But what's it like sitting in the stands at Minute Maid Park and actually watching a game? One admittedly biased source says the atmosphere is bliss.

Minute Maid Park tickets
Winning has its drawbacks, especially when it comes to ticket prices. The Astros first won the World Series in 2017 and getting a seat at Minute Park happened to get a lot pricier in the years that followed. According to Statista, the average price of a Houston Astros ticket at Minute Maid Park barely moved from 2010 to 2015, hovering around $30. That figure increased to $40 in 2018 and nearly $50 in 2019, jumping to $62.56 for the 2023 MLB season. That means the average price of a ticket to an Astros home game has more than doubled in less than a decade.

What is the atmosphere like at an Astros game?
All ballparks strive to provide signature, high-energy moments for fans, and Minute Maid Park is no exception. The Astros rep we spoke with calls the playing and singing of "Deep in the Heart of Texas," which happens right after the playing of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the seventh inning stretch, for example, "an iconic tradition and fun sing-a-long moment."
During the fourth inning, two veterans or active military members are recognized on the big screen. And there are special theme nights throughout the season, celebrating everything in recent seasons from Hello Kitty to "Stranger Things," and often including a free collectible given to attendees.

Gates open two hours before first pitch most games, and three hours before first pitch during Street Fest events.
