Dack Rambo and Elyssa Davalos star as sweethearts Andy Stuart and Jessica Gordon. The course of true love is messed up when Satan claims Jessica as his own personal property. Desperately, Andy turns to a pair of priests, Fathers Kemschler and Wheatley, for spiritual guidance, not to mention a bit of brute force in purging poor Jessica of her demons.

Dack Rambo stars along with Kim Catrall in this television movie that rips off a lot of movies of the day, including The Exorcist. Yeah, it is one of those. If Dack Rambo alone doesn't make you want to watch this, well then, you just aren't right in the head.
A fantastically stupid failed TV pilot that feels like two episodes of television mashed together, the first a rip-off of Rosemary's Baby and The Omen, and the second a rip-off of The Exorcist. Rosemary’s Baby meets The Exorcist in this TV movie/failed series pilot from Paul Wendkos. The first half is rock-solid and doesn’t waste any time, then it takes a big shit. Really good as a San Francisco showcase.
Richard Lynch is the demon Asteroth’s right-hand man with a legion of cats (!!), Dan O’Herlihy is the exorcist (!!!), and Dack Rambo is the smooth ‘nam vet/lady’s man.
Don’t know if I can recommend this in good conscience, but I was entertained.
Failed TV Pilot Satan is just as bad a boyfriend as Theatrical Release Satan.
Exorcizing Rosemary’s Baby
It is a tale as old as time, boy hits girl’s car with this windowless van, boy charms girl with 24 hour auto repair, boy sends presents to girl even though she isn’t interested, boy wears down girl’s resistance, boy and girl fall in love, plan to get married, and then he discovers she’s the handmaid of Satan destined to give birth to the antichrist. Frankly she might be better off with Satan than Dack Rambo’s character who spends the first twenty minutes of this movie basically stalking our heroine until she gives in. So far as meets-cute go, I guess this is one for the ages - he hits her car, she lets him drive away with it so he can fix it up, he brings it back good as new, and then he harasses her until she agrees to go out with him.
If this seems like some "Girl, stay away!" territory to you, understand that she has good reason to believe everything will work out for her, because a "guardian angel" has been looking after her since birth. No points for guessing that this angel has a history of downward movement.

Enjoyably crap TV movie/failed pilot/Exorcist ripoff in which Dan O’Herlihy plays Max Von Sydow and has to pretend to be attacked by a sentient pillow. In another scene a ginger cat is shown clearly yawning and they put the sound of a panther roaring over it. Ends on a tantalising cliffhanger that we’ll never see resolved - yet another one of life’s injustices. Will I ever complete Kim Catrall’s extensive filmography of garbage? Watched this before work this morning and it really set me up for the day.
No wonder this TV movie pilot never went further than this muddled movie that jumps from one plot about woman who was betrothed to a demon as a baby and then jumps to a possessed child in this mish mash of plots taken from much better movies. Nasty kitty cats figure into both the story lines
Why are hospitals in horror movies always these creepy, abandoned places with few other patients and even fewer employees - or lights - after dark? Seriously, where the hell are these places? Anyway, some good Dack Rambo for your 1970s-loving ass, plus a great rubber baby, make this a decent flick to fall asleep to.
Though it's a poor-boy's amalgam of several top-tier satanic horror films from the genre's heyday of the 1970's, I quite enjoyed this TV-movie, which was a failed pilot, for a proposed series that never came (the type of thing that Mia Wallace bragged that she had previously starred in to Vincent Vega in 'Pulp Fiction'). Philadelphian-born director Wendkos made only a handful of feature films from 1957-99, and 'Good Against Evil' has the workmanlike, low-budget yet professional, sheen that comes with the territory.
The first half is a cross between 'Rosemary's Baby' and 'The Omen' series, with the difference that a female ('Jessica Gordon') is born, and it cuts from her 1955 birth in New York City to young adulthood…
TV film that tries to mix The Exorcist with To the Devil a Daughter to limited success. It is fun to see Dan O'Herlihy fight against a wind machine and a barrage of clutter thrown by stage hands.
