Paul D. Schreiber Senior High School Reviews
Rating 3.95 out of 5 260 reviews
My overall experience with the school has been wonderful! I was a virtual freshman year so I wasn't really able to do in-school activities and clubs. However, during my sophomore year, I immediately joined multiple clubs and was an active member of each club. The club included Key Club, Class Club, Health Club, etc. Not only were the clubs great but that's where I met a lot of my closest friends as well. The teachers care about their students well being, understanding, and they a great teachers academically as well. The facilities are great, the lunchroom just got renovated, we have commons where students can relax and we have great outdoor facilities as well; as we care a lot about sports in this town.
For the most part, my experience at Schreiber has been good. There are plenty of classes to choose from, and I’m always able to fill my schedule completely. However, we currently do not have enough teachers, so classes are limited to a few time spots and this frequently causes scheduling conflicts- for instance, I had to retake freshmen orchestra in my sophomore year since the sophomore orchestra did not fit in my schedule. Another thing I would like to see change is the gym system, as it is unfair that if you miss a gym class because of a school field trip or ap test, you get a zero for the day and it tanks your average. But other than that, the teachers are great, the classes are challenging, and there are a lot of excellent opportunities at Schreiber.
As a public school, Schreiber really makes the best of its resources. We're competitive on a county and state level in athletics, even against private schools, because of the coaches and athletic trainer. We have a great teacher-to-student ratio. I've never felt like I can't reach a teacher if I have a question. Academic resources are great here. If you're struggling, there's someone looking out for you. As well, administration does what it can to help students. The building is constantly being improved with new additions every year. Also, for a town with fairly limited cuisine, the high school has a pretty competitive menu (not with the Smashburger down the road though). Every kid is in a club, and if they're not, they're still reaping the benefits of all the school and community events that frequently occur. Finally, the culture is pretty good. The kids are nice and most will dress up for silly days or lend a helping hand if need be. What more could you ask from a bunch of teenagers.
