Father shoots wife, 3 kids, himself in murder-suicide, police say

OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma City Police said a father shot his wife and three kids, then himself, in a murder-suicide.

Around 9:30 a.m. Monday, a 911 caller said five people were dead inside a home near Southwest 29th Street and South Czech Hall Road.

Police said all five people, four victims and the suspect, had been shot to death.

Investigators believe the suspect, 42-year-old Jonathon Candy, armed himself with a gun and killed his wife, Lindsay Candy, 39, and his three children, 18-year-old Dylan Candy, 14-year-old Ethan Candy, and 12-year-old Lucas Candy.

It's not clear what caused Jonathan to murder his family, police said, however, a fourth child was in the home and was unharmed.

The child was released to family members at the scene.
