Kate Davies is the main protagonist and final girl in Valentine.
Kate's main/adult self is played by Marley Shelton who was red herring Deputy Judy Hicks in Scream 4.
Biography[]
Kate is pals with Shelley Fisher, Lily Voight, Paige Prescott, and Dorothy Wheeler. and geeky school acquaintance Jeremy Melton's biggest crush. In 1988, When he asks to dance with her, she kindly replies by saying "Maybe later, Jeremy".
Thirteen years later, in 2001, after Shelley was murdered, she and her buddy's were discussing the merits of online dating while discussing Kate's recent breakup - with her on-off alcoholic boyfriend, Adam Carr, who has she reunites with.
At home, she suspects someone is outside her apartment, leading to her discovery of a Cupid mask (reminiscent of the ones worn at the Valentine's Day dance) stuck in the elevator door before startled by her scary neighbor Gary.
After Dorothy, having framed Jeremy for assault, was framed by Adam as the killer, pushing her dress in his outfit into Kate and shooting her dead, making him look like the hero. Jeremy's quest and desire for revenge have both succeeded. Kate is unaware that Adam is Jeremy.
