What is the best month for snow across Tassie, we are arriving via Davenport and thinking going anticlockwise as we did clockwise 5 years ago in summer, any suggestions please... Steve

Steve do you have a proposed itinerary with the number of nights you have in Tassie?.

Early August would be a good month normally to see snow. You should be able to see some at Mt Wellington and possibly Cradle Mountain.

Tarraleah, Bronte Park and Derwent Bridge as well as Mt Field national park will maybe have some snow too..

Just a question Steve are you flying into Devonport and hiring a vehicle or are you bringing you own vehicle on the SPOT. 🤠

July and August are traditionally the months with the most regular snow but it has become much less predictable in recent years so there are no guarantees.

If there is snow be prepared to be flexible with your schedule in case there are delays with road closures. For the west coast there is a public Facebook page called "West Coast TASMANIA Road Conditions" which will have real time updates from other drivers. Also worth bookmarking the Tasmania Police Community Alerts page for road conditions in case there are closures or special cautions: https://www.police.tas.gov.au/community-alerts/
