It was a peaceful time that went quick when looking back.I just wish there were better ways to access information on what’s going on in campus.
Great school however not for me. I am looking to further my education in a safer state as well as I am looking to transfer to Kean University for their education programs and lacrosse program.
I like using the sports facilities. The campus is nice. I don’t think there is anything I would change other than renovating some of the older buildings on campus.
Teachers do not really take much initiative. Students struggle to connect with faculty. Very questionable administration and policies enforced.
In essence, CUNY Brooklyn College offers a diverse student body, robust academic programs, and affordable tuition. Students typically value the supportive faculty and practical learning opportunities. Suggestions for enhancement may include increased student service resources and facility improvements. Ultimately, individual preferences should guide assessments of the college experience.
It is a good commuter school but do not expect to make close friends and have a campus life. For most students you come on campus to go to your classes, study in the library, and then go home. There are some very good professors, but also some horrible ones. I had a class I had to take and no good teachers were teaching it. So sometimes it is a struggle. Overall a good school to a get a degree in, but nothing past that.
I'm sure the other departments have professors that have better quality classes. However, as a computer science student, I must say that the majority of professors in the CS department are far from satisfactory. There are a handful of professors in some classes that give you a breath of fresh air, reminding you of how fun learning can be. However, the vast majority will sap your love for learning new concepts. The most common problem is the lack of variability in the way classes are led. Most classes will be held as lectures that encourage little to no engagement from the students. Furthermore, there is no creativity or desire to teach students how to solve problems outside of the box. Other than that, student life is what you'd expect from a CUNY unless you make an effort to find the right group of people. The campus is great compared to the majority of other CUNY campuses just being a couple buildings and hallways.
The school itself is not very difficult I think as long as you choose the right professors. However, some professors can make your stay there very difficult. I’m a music student and one great thing is that the practice rooms are always open. There’s a lot of pianos and the sound is very nice. Vocal coaching is also always available. The students are also very friendly and supportive.
Brooklyn College is a great school, the campus is beautiful, the library in the clock tower is a great resource where they have many computers, study rooms, and books that you can check out. The library cafe is also another great resource that allows students to eat, converse, and study or work on assignments in one site.
As a Sophomore student that will be a Junior in fall semester all is fine. I plan to start taking classes that will be for my major in journalism. I want to become a news anchor.
The students are great and teachers are passionate about the subject they teach. They have tutoring centers made up of students and teachers helping those in need which helps create a stronger community. People have freedom of speech and hold protests in which anyone can participate in too. There is also weekly food carts which can be expensive sometimes, but it is nice to have various food options.
I was a speech major there and there was no diversity and I felt as if the whole major was one race. Didn't have the best experience with the speech major but as soon as I entered other classes there was a major difference there in diversity. I would've also liked if they changed their college requirement classes or added more options. I wish they also added more physical classes like Hunter for example. They had yoga.
My experience at Brooklyn College, was At first something to get used to coming out of high school. But great job easing me into the college life. The professors are very warm and very understanding to everybody in the class knowing that we’re all human and we go through situations outside of school. Enjoy the flexibility. Going to school time and working Brooklyn College. Amazing job helping me balance the two. A couple things I would like to see change is more renovations to the cafeteria and more variety of food on campus.
After being enrolled at Brooklyn College I can say I do enjoy attending classes here. There are lots of professors that are willing to help and take the extra time to really make sure you are on track but there are also professors that simply see it as being a job. Which makes it hard to come to their office hours or ask questions in class. The campus its self is really nice and has that nice open quad but the actual buildings are very dated and a lot of the rooms don’t have ac or are very small. Overall my experience has been pretty good and I would still recommend it to someone who wants an affordable school
The school year has just begun, but I can already say I love it! Right before school began, I got a sense of community from a peer mentor reaching out to ensure I had a smooth start to my freshman year. Getting enrolled in my classes was an easy process thanks to the staff. The campus is beautiful and has many areas available to students which is a freedom I admire. Most importantly, I feel challenged in my classes, and the professors, despite what others may think, provide a fair academic experience through informative lectures and grading.
I will say, that I wish course options were more open to undergraduate freshmen. It's understandable that those who have been enrolled longer have priority over choosing courses, but it was disappointing to find out I didn't have complete freedom over my schedule.

The campus is nice but i would like the inside to look better.Brooklyn College is known for its diverse student body and vibrant campus life. It has a strong commitment to providing affordable education and promoting social mobility. The college's faculty includes renowned scholars and researchers who contribute significantly to their respective fields.
The campus itself is located in a lively and culturally rich area of Brooklyn, providing students with access to various cultural and recreational opportunities. Additionally, Brooklyn College has a strong emphasis on community engagement and offers various programs and services to benefit the local community.
Please note that specific details about the college's programs, admission requirements, and campus facilities may have changed since my last update in January 2022. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, I recommend visiting the official Brooklyn College website or contacting the college directly.

I am a transfer the material I am learning is the same material as my pervious school, but the professors make more of an effort to help students learn. I think it is the reduced class size, they have to directly interact with students instead of using a TA. My only gripe is how difficult it is to find peer tutoring, the hours of availability are narrow.
The buildings are in need of repair, there was water leaking out out of the ceiling a while a back, but the outside lawn is well maintained.
