'Faltering start'
A round-up of the headlines from the UK front pages
Rishi Sunak made a "faltering start" to his general election campaign says the Financial Times, while Metro describes day one as a "bumpy take-off". The uncomfortable headlines come after he admitted there would be no migrant flights to Rwanda before polling day.
But the Telegraph says Sunak has claimed that Keir Starmer "doesn't have the courage to debate me" as he challenged the Labour leader to a record six televised debates. The Daily Express claims Labour fear Starmer would "sabotage his prospects" in debates.
"The general ejection" is the punny headline on the Daily Star, which reports that holiday bookings are up 57%, as people try to avoid "six weeks of fibs and bluster" in the run up to polling day.
