Interesting Info about Argo Dwipangga
Name of Origin
Argo Dwipangga is the first argo class train that does not follow the general naming rules of the common train. Argo trains usually use a mountain name, but Argo Dwipangga comes from the name of an animal. Dwipangga is the name of the elephant who became the faithful vehicle of Dewa Indra in Hindu mythology. This naming was intended to represent the nature of Dwipangga which can protect the staffs and passengers in all situations during the trip.
Also, there is also another meaning of the origin of the name Dwipangga, which was still associated with the mountain. "Dwi" (meaning "two") and "pangga" (meaning "mountain") refer to two iconic mountains in Java, namely Mount Merapi and Mount Merbabu. This naming is given in the hope that Argo Dwipangga trains can continue to survive in the two big mountains. Fortunately, the passengers can also enjoy the view of the two mountains from the train during the journey.
