Founded in 1916, Sir Parashurambhau College (SP College) is one of the most prestigious colleges in Pune, India. The college offers a variety of courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate as well as doctoral level.

A total of five courses are offered at the UG level, four courses are offered at the PG level and the Ph.D. degree is offered with three different specializations. The UG courses are offered for a duration of three years and the PG courses are offered for a duration of two years.

The application procedure for these courses start by the end of May month and admission to all the courses except B.B.A., B.Sc. Computer Science, M.Sc. Computer Science, M.C.A. and Ph.D. courses are based on the merit of the candidates in the qualifying examination.

S.P College Pune UG Admission 2024

SP College offers a number of courses at the undergraduate level which includes B.A. (special level), B.A. (general level), B.Sc., B.Com and B.B.A. courses. All these courses are for a duration of three years.

The B.A. (special) course is offered with 13 different specialization subjects, B.A. (general) course is offered with four different specializations and the B.Sc. course is offered with nine different specialization subjects.

Admission to the B.A. and B.Com courses are made on the basis of the merit of the candidates in the previous qualifying examination, i.e. the 10+2 level examination. For admission to the B.Sc. courses, candidates are shortlisted based on their merit as per the 10+2 examination results and are invited for the counselling rounds.

For B.B.A., the admissions are made on the basis of a common entrance test conducted by the University of Pune.

S.P College Pune PG Admission 2024

SP college offers M.A., M.Sc. and M.Com courses at the postgraduate level. All the postgraduate level courses are for a duration of two years.

The M.A. course is offered with six different specialization subjects, whereas, the M.Sc. course is offered with five different specialization subjects.

Admission to M.Sc. Computer Science and M.C.A. are based on the performance of the candidates in a separation entrance test conducted by the Department of Computer Science. Shortlisted candidates are invited for the counselling rounds.

Admission to all other postgraduate courses are based on the merit of the candidates in their relevant bachelor’s degree examination.

S.P College Pune M.Phil & Ph.D Admission 2024

SP college, other than the UG and PG courses, also offers the Ph.D. degree in three different fields of research - Chemistry, Geography and Mathematics.

Admission to the Ph.D. courses are based on a written test conducted by the college and the shortlisted candidates are then invited for the interview rounds. Selection of candidates for the Ph.D. courses are based on their academic marks as well as on performance in the entrance test and interview.

SP College is well known college of the pune city
the college is having big campus and huge playground

Dislikes

the college offers facility of swimming pool which not affordable to students who come from village area
the security is too tight they dont allow student without id card even if they have mistakenly forgot id card at their place

Admission:

The college publishes the cut off list based on which students can apply to college. The collge has its own website through which the student can get admitted. college conduct exams twice a year and final exams are conducted by Pune university.

The class size is limited hence the teachers pay attention to every student
The practical labs consist of every material required for detail studies

Dislikes

The infrastructure can be improved as their are not many clean washrooms in the campus
The security of students needs to be considered as their have been many incidents of fights and disputes inside the college campus

Admission:

The eligibility is 12th paas from any board The application forms are released on the official website of the college after some days of 12th results The application fees is generally around 200 to 300 Their are reservations for categories There is no entrance exam and tge admission is based on 12th percentage

Lack of maintenance and poor administration

Admission:

No entrance exam was required for admission. Admission was based on merit with different cut-offs for different sections (OBC, ST, SC, etc). Exams are conducted in the form of 40 marks internal with 20 marks exam and 20 marks assignment and 60 marks eternal exam

The fees structure is low as compared to quality of education
Computer lab and other technological aspects are good.

Dislikes

The benches are quite old and renovation is required.

Admission:

Students should be atleast in last year of of his higher secondary schooling. There is no separate exam for admission, it is based on the marks student have achieved in higher secondary schooling. The college website gives all information regarding filling application form to paying fees.

Admission process was very good.Applcation fees are also normal.just the students should be 12th pass.the most imp admission process is very stable and well organized for every faculty.the clersk and staff was also very supportive during the whole admission process.

The college campus is very beautiful and there is greenery around.
The teaching faculty is very kind and helpful.

Dislikes

The online portal for fees, admission and other things is very complicated and there's no cordination
The staff is very confused and its even more confusing for students to deal with the procedure without guidance

Admission:

Admission was based on merit, I took admission in 2020 and at that time there was no entrance exam totally based on merit. Honestly, the admission process was a bit tedious and difficult, there rose many issues while selecting subjects, paying fees. For some the things went sorted in one-go but for some there was lots of trouble to get it done right even after following everything properly.

The admission process is very simple. It is based on the 12th board marks. Three merit lists will be displayed on the college website after that the admission process is online. The application form for admission is displayed on the college website. The application fee is 100 rupees.

Admission:

To take admission to this college you need a percentage of more than 75% in 12th. The application form is on the website of the college which you can search by spcollege.ac.in. For category students reservations are present and scholarships are provided. The admission process is not so difficult.
