School is easy for me. For new stuff it may take me a little bit to learn but that's what teaching is for. I also like a challenge. School being easy for me sometimes means it's also boring. It's definitely better than most schools I'll give it that. I am also not sure about the teachers' mindset. Some are really good, if people listened. Others not so much. Even some good teachers I find a little strange. I know someone who took a class last semester that I'm now taking. Apparently some of the lessons he has me do my friend never did. I can say more but I won't go to hard on the teachers. It feels like every class I have, not a lot of people really listen. But again, that's their problem, not mine. I'll do what it takes to get by.
My experience in the past 4 years I have attended River City High School has been positive. I believe that the school provides a variety of electives that are helpful for students following certain career pathways like culinary, engineering, art, and agriculture. Besides the electives, which I have found to have made my experience positive, the environment and staff have made my experience great as well. The majority of the teachers that I have had at River City High School have gone beyond helping their students which would be the best part. Even though I have had a great experience, there have been some negative parts like having a difficult time receiving help about college when needed. I would like to see this change, where staff encourage students to apply to college and create a positive attitude towards it. My overall experience at River City has been great.
At River City High School, I believe they have made an improvement on showing diversity at our school by hosting a Dia De Los Muertos celebration and a Kwanzaa celebration. I helped with setting up both celebrations and I they truly show how beautiful their cultures are and give the students a chance to learn something new and fun. They also have great classes like Senior Seminar, where they teach seniors about life skills they need to know after high school and also help you stay on track to apply to colleges. They also have a wide range of clubs you can join like MEChA, HOSA, AP Scholars, and many more that give students a wide range to choose and be a part of. Our schools food can be good at times but there have been occasions where I have gotten moldy apples, my friends would get expired milk, and another one of my friends believe they got food poisoning from the Chinese food they serve.
